My favorite part about this paint job is the juxtaposition between all of the colors and the drab cloaks. It’s as though his cloaks aren’t actually there but instead they’re clouds of spores that have surrounded him to form something resembling clothing.

Was the biggest model I painted for sure and the longest. I put the body together and painted everything separate after that, because this is Morty and an amazing looking model, I didn't want to mess it up.

Amazing work BTW Jay, in the lore, his alien weapon "Silence" is not corroded at all. Its clean and pristine. The only change is that it's size has grown to match Mortarion's hand.

I must say, it's very interesting to compare this video with the ones from 1 or 2 years ago. You were a passionate, but average painter. Speaking of kitbashing a mortarian model I’ve seen someone make a dark Mechanicus daemon prince by replacing the wings with those from a helldrake and what looked like knight abominant lashes as the melee weapon and gave him a tech priest head and did it all in red black and rust It was really cool

Fun fact, his pistol Lantern isn't a plasma pistol, it's a relic from the Age of Strife that the Emperor found in Shenlong during the Unification Wars and later gifted to Morty after he was found and brought back to Terra

Love the paint job Jay but I think you got mortarion’s role messed up. Morty is more of a buffing character for turns 1-2 with his ignore all modifiers rule. Then when turn three hits you bring him out and run him at something you want to die.
