His is, without a doubt, the best interpretation of this song. The fast tempo and liberties taken with the chords really make it feel like chaos. Almost like a ship on the ocean battling the storm. You can picture it so clearly. And Tim’s voice is flawless.

Tim O’Brien is an insane flatpicker. Top 10 best flatpickers of all time. He makes it look too easy, there is no chance that someone ever covers this version.

The flat picking is great, but the vocals are what makes his interpretation so special.

The Red on Blond album is a rare joy from start to finish, but this is track 1 and it’s a belter. Amazing to hear it as a solo performance.

Tim's Bob Dylan cover album "Red on Blonde" is one of my favorites. His album of duets with Darrell Scott is also fantastic.

At this moment I believe this rendition, among Tim's many interpretations, is the best. There's a lilting improvisation to his vocals that is always unexpected...but mind-blowingly natural. It hurts me a little that there's no mandolin because I'm a fool for a mandolin, but we'd have to clone Tim so he could play mando and guitar as well.

Can't help but think Dylan would be giving two thumbs up as Tim captures this song quite well with all of the vocal nuances he puts in against the bare guitar work.

Not entirely but That was not the point of Dylan. The point was to bring these songs to the world for others like Tim to create Dylan was the most important writer possibly ever at least in my opinion but yes.
