I thought, according to Hesiod, that Eos was the daughter of Erebus (the primordial darkness) and Nyx (goddess of the night). Basically the Ancient Greek explanation on how light is born from darkness. Or perhaps how the night gives birth to the dawn.
@paulkofler519
@paulkofler519 3 жыл бұрын
Thats Hemera, goddess and personification of the day and daylight. Eos is the Titan goddess of dawn and like he said daughter of Hyperion and Theia. Hemera also has a brother named Aither/Aether: god and personification of light, upper air that the gods breath and the blue either of the sky. And yes, the day and night cycle in Greek mythology isn’t caused by the sun (Helios or Apollo)😑😂

I feel like it’s possible that her lovers being pioneers, warriors or kings may have a synergistic relationship to the Dawn and so to Eos herself. If King, (mature masculine principle) relates with Sun then perhaps the most powerful position is in the east at sunrise (Dawn) as the light (Sun) triumphs over darkness and begins it’s ascent to the Meridian/highest point in the sky. I believe they associated the east with Ares in the Socratic and Hellenistic period. Sun at Dawn like the warrior (Ares) forging into battle, the unknown, in order to ascend to the throne. Love your channel ty 👍🏽☺️

Eos is no different from Zeus when it comes to falling for infatuation but the only difference is that she was attached to a man and she never cared for Astraeus. But what happened to her is also the consequence of aphrodite's curse
@paulkofler519
@paulkofler519 3 жыл бұрын
I heard that, when Eos was cursed, she also had to look out for young men everyday at the beginning of her journey across the sky and bc of that she always gets so embarrassed that she turns red and even the sky turns red

Great video . I didn't know much about Eos so thank you for covering this. Could you cover the elemental beings ( ie sylphs salamanders undines and gnomes ) they're also in Greek, Norse mythology and others around the world. for instance undines may be similar to nymphs, mermaids and other water spirits and gnomes may be similar to dwarfs trolls dryads and other earth spirits. Idk much about salamanders (fire spirits) and sylphs (air spirits)

@gmkar7766

@@Shiobana753 There's a big gap between jibes and demonisation. Zeus is never demonised for his """"conquests"""'", the opposite if anything, even though he is described countless times as either coercing or outright raping women. Afrodite sleeps cheats on the husband she was forced to marry with many, willing, partners and is a slut. And she has nowhere near the bodycount of Zeus. Double standard in full effect.

I seen her once in my life two years ago it was breathtaking and shocking seeing a goddess with red hair and a red dress floating in the air but it seemed like she was underwater. I was walking for miles to my way home and got super tired and take a five minute rest with my eyes closed and I got up and started walking but before I did I there was a tractor fogging the whole wine fields with smoke so all I was able to see was the the street lights each and least a football field long light to light then I felt a bad feeling around me in the darkness like my spider senses kicked in and I pulled out my knife watching my back and continued to walk then I saw her. I couldn’t make sense when I first saw but as I was walking by I stopped and just watched her floating just trying to abduct me with her beautify but I just kept walking because I didn’t know what to expect…

I feel we would dawn a new age if we remembered our Titans: Light work and the 4 directions of the compass 💚💚 The gods are simply personifications of the forces of nature. How many forces your culture recognizes is a reflection of how well you know the universe. Was monotheism THAT BAD that you thought atheism was the answer over reconnecting to the moon through Artemis? Wow… You guys must be tired.

For the record we sleep eight to 9 hours a day actually it's more like 7:00 to 9:00 some like growing children need more babies obviously need more but in general we average 8 hours of sleep a night, so there's also a matter of circadian rhythms and I'll trade in rhythms and right timing for everything including comedy and tragedy but we're talking about a balance and temperance but for the record 8 hours

But what he's talking about would be a larger Network frame that would be the agricultural wheel where the sun is monitored throughout the 12 months or 13 whichever, or the 13 or 12 moons but the Sun at solstice is similar to that promise of light waxing and waning and that it's natural it's not something to be frightened of but in terms of darkness and moral darkness the solstice and St John's day at midsummer which is also the other solstice are the promise of conquering the dark or that the light will never be extinguished more aptly

Yes but in this respect what would become of a union or spiritual union between any goddess but especially one concern with sun energy and Aries if not lost and passion or concupiscence especially where Powers concerned so in this sense she's actually a female Ares, hence her lust for powerful men, or concupiscence this could easily carry over to men's lust for power and they're downfall at the hands of women so that she then psychologically acts as a projection

And this would set off the iconography of twins, are they siblings that fight for dominance between Good and evil or complementary siblings male and female? As it was not so from the beginning How many twins are in the bible? More than you know Cain and Abel were said to be twins with red hair Jacob and Esau and then it's de-escalated between siblings such as Jacob and his brothers which would make up the 12 tribes of Israel or Leah and Rachel or Sarah and hagar as competitive concubine / wives So Christ is talking about male and female and complementary siblings or complementary relationships it's not competitive this is a product of sin, it's natural to have healthy competition because this builds boundaries and the cornerstone of all morality is healthy boundaries that's from a psychological perspective But Christ doesn't talk about a psychological perspective he's talking about Adam and Eve and he's talking about precisely, it wasn't so from the beginning

So this is the Greek version or versions I should say or virgins LOL but it's a great version of yin and Yang the sun and the moon so the active masculine principle is direct and active oriented where the Moon is less brilliant and energy but more subtle and receptive not less brilliant in that sense just one is more lustful and passionate the other is more reticent receptive and thoughtful or contemplative or whatever One is more personal passionate and lustful the other is more chaste that doesn't necessarily mean more modest although in the Christian tradition modest or chase also doesn't mean virginal in that sense of abstinence or not having sex it just means modest or more modest than the standard which in this case is the active masculine fire aggressive principle it's not necessarily aggressive in that way but maybe action assertion motivation and the other one is more receptive restful contemplative restorative etc that's yin and yang fire and water Sun and Moon male and female soul and Spirit
