Never even heard this before... Already feel familiar to it tho... Masashi has such a unique style that he and only he can execute...

Wow, he has such a distinctive style, I recognized it immediately from his Final Fantasy works.

He has a sound that I can only describe as "jazzy." His harmonies are so rich and full, like jazz chords.

Man.. Hasahis music is so captivating and just whimsical. I'd wager he's on the same page as Yoko shimomura
@calvindewilde38646 жыл бұрын
whenever I listened Hamauzu, he reminds me to Ravel and early Debussy's works, his style indeed, is very distinctive.
@KingRagink6 жыл бұрын
You're so right. There's definitely Something unique and mystical in Hamauzu's music, just like in Ravel pieces. I guess it makes sense that Ravel is my favorite composer and Hamauzu is one of my favorite VGM composers (If not my favorite)

Say what you want but Hamauzu has the cleanest violins from any VGM composer
@stressedoutbluebelt53973 жыл бұрын
Doesn't say what you want imply there's an often cited criticism of him? Unless I'm missing something, I've never really heard much bad about him. Sorry if I misunderstood your comment. He's my favorite composer regardless of genre.
@Pikachu-qr4yb3 жыл бұрын
@@stressedoutbluebelt5397 lol you do have a point, I haven't heard anything bad about him! I guess just always in the back of my mind people generally say Uemarsu is the GOAT, while he is a legend for good reasons, he doesn't have much of a distinguished sound. Hamauzu I can tell right away if it's his music and the clean violins and pianos always seem deeply intimate
@stressedoutbluebelt53973 жыл бұрын
@@Pikachu-qr4yb totally agree. I grew up calling Uematsu the GOAT, but as I grew older I started to appreciate Hamauzu's compositions much more on a personal level (Uematsu will always be neck and neck though). Not only the violins, but you can hear his influence in the FFX piano collections. There's just... Something about how he plays. He has that Japanese vibe, but also a strong European vibe, which makes sense when you think about how he was raised in Germany.
@optimaltt6070 Жыл бұрын
"Say what you want" implies that there's anything to say but praise. He's an amazing composer, through and through.
@optimaltt6070 Жыл бұрын
@@Pikachu-qr4yb EXACTLY. Uematsu's work is distinct enough...if you've heard FAR too much of it, a privilege he gets to enjoy having almost exclusively worked on the FF series for as long as he has. Meanwhile... Hamauzu? I recognize his work INSTANTLY past the ONE time I heard it. It's an identity that asserts itself without too much repetition being *necessary* to begin with.
