Cherokees are like never ending projects but when you have to travel and live in one for four months with your wife it needs to be in a good operating condition. I've been building and using the Jeep as a work truck and offroad toy for the last two years and although it's pretty solid its going to need some work before we leave for Scandinavia. In this video I break down the build as it stands Pre-Trip, and then the five months work begins before we leave! This video is originally and MCQBushcraft upload from my other channel but I have started this new channel and moved all the Jeep/Adventure stuff here. Thanks for watching

So glad I found your channel. I have a USA 99 XJ Sport 4 door 4.0L. I purchased it new back in 1999 and it is now my second vehicle after over 15 years being a daily driver. I am looking for some additional upgrades after completing the following. Added is a 4" lift, heavy duty track bar, sway bar disconnects, upgraded steering damper, Bilstein shocks, 265 x 60 x 18 tires and wheels, slip yoke eliminator, 4.11 gears front and rear with front and rear EATON limited slip lockers. Being it is now 24 years old time to address some aging issues. One, some minor rust is now showing, doors are sagging due to worn out hinge pins, and time for some paint or a wrap and replacement bumpers with a winch. Anyhow I will be following your chapters and look forward to see what you come up with your 99 XJ build. Cheers!

I'm curious what they use to de-ice the roads in winter where you live. I notice there is very little rust on that vehicle and I'm jealous!
@WorkshoptoWilderness4 жыл бұрын
This video is from back when I lived in the UK. You don't get snow there really. Here in Sweden where I live now you get plenty with ice but they don't salt the roads so its pretty good for cars

I greet you! Congratulations on the fantastic XJ that you improved with so much passion. I follow you from Romania. I also have an XJ and I would like to install vents in the hood like you have on your XJ. Please tell me where you bought it because I can't find the metal model like yours.

sorry if you've been asked this many times before.... If you wanted to get into modding cars like this as a complete begginer where would you start? I have a rav4 and love the idea of having it as a project but wouldn't know where to begin... great channel btw :)

Wow! I'm incredibly jealous of your abilities. My 2001 is fresh-from-the-factory stock. Is yours also the Steel Blue Pearl (PBQ) color?
@WorkshoptoWilderness5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching, I'm no expert but its been a fun learning experience. I believe so, I'm not sure on the exact colour. Its my favourite though.
@PeraPeraEnglish5 жыл бұрын
@@WorkshoptoWilderness check the small metal plate on the radiator support. If you see PBQ there that is your paint code for Steel Blue Pearl. Mine is also an export model, so the paint code doesn't appear anywhere else on the vehicle.
@WorkshoptoWilderness4 жыл бұрын
Ah okay, I will have to check that. I had no idea that it was there. Is it the front cross member?
@PeraPeraEnglish4 жыл бұрын
@@WorkshoptoWilderness The American market ones have it on the door stickers, but our imports have it on the crossmember, and a few other places, tucked away under bumpers, etc.

I use this for inside the box sections - www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-x-DINITROL-3125HS-RUST-PROOFING-CAVITY-WAX-500ml-AEROSOL-Extension-nozzle/223128840442?hash=item33f383e8fa:g:bMwAAOSw~llcRaoM&frcectupt=true An this for underneath the vehicle - www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tetroseal-4-5kg-TSL500-Tetrosyl-Genuine-Top-Quality-Product-New/232936860324?epid=10012032970&hash=item363c1e6aa4:g:nP8AAOSwj81bpaEq They are both excellent products and they will not fail, chip, crack or come off. The temperatures here fluctuate from -35c in the winter to +33c in the summer and it's still good with no returning rust.

Hi Mike, just een recommended to your channel from the FB XJ group, we're moving our XJ uk to Sweden soon, do you know if the 1996 has headlights that can be redirected to right side driving?
@WorkshoptoWilderness3 жыл бұрын
Hey, thanks for checking it out. Yeah you can buy the left hand drive head lights and fit them to the xj. RBS Handle in Sweden will probably sell new units that fit. Or you can find a scrap xj and use them. They are fairly easy to find. We're you guys moving too?
