The etan/እጣን has its own purpose but that's a long story In Ethiopian Orthodox church our ancestors designed it all so we could use all our 5 sense organs in the church Tounge= for tsebel/kurban Ears= to listen to the kidase eyes= to see the the ceremony and read the kidase Hands/skin= to kiss the bible/ the wengel Nose= smell the essence But as you all said it correctly, us Orthodox Christians's our parents did so little to educate us and us as generation did so little to ask so it left as with a picture in our minds to think that it was wrong so we eventually change our believes And the dress codes to the Orthodox church has its own meaning but you're also right when it comes to accepting but we have to be educated afterwards to dress properly

I think reason most orthodox Christians atleast the Ethiopians don’t really read the bible is because in orthodoxy you are taught what to believe.Like the Bible says this and we interpret it like xyz because of … However Protestants come to they’re own belief so they are taught to interrogate for themselves.It’s kind of like in orthodoxy all the work has been done by the church and the church fathers.So your not really motivated to actually go and read the Bible.

Liar!! Orthodoxy always pushes us to read the Bible. But because it is the religion we grew up with, we did not give it a place, and this is our fault, not the fault of Orthodoxy. When it comes to Protestants, most Protestants are new to the faith, and when you're new, you pay attention to that, it's natural. In the end, I will tell you that most Habesha who grew up in the Orthodox faith are disciplined and God-fearing. When we go to Protestantism, most of them are undisciplined homosexuals and anti-Christ. If you want proof, you can look at America and Europe.

And look at how the protestants gone too far. They have more than 30,000 denominations. If there is one God and one faith, then our father's way can not be different than ours. That is what makes orthodoxy one, catholic(international), apostolic and true church.

@@edenteferi142 Yeah I agree because Protestants can interpret scripture how they want they don’t have the same dogma.The beauty of orthodoxy is that it’s unchanged people 100 years ago worshipped how we do now.In the early stages of Protestants it was basically a popularity contest to gather the most followers.Martin Luther the father of Protestantism also used orthodoxy as an example that catholics strayed he even mentioned Ethiopia by name which is really cool.
