How to protect the solar plexus. I understood how to protect the liver using the elbows but how to protect the solar plexus, there are no muscles to contract even so how to protect it without opening the face which could leave me uncovered for an actual knockout.

My sparring partner just showed me the most brutal way to defend body hooks - he spiked out his elbows to the side crashing it in my thumbs. Now I'm walking around like an ape and cant use both thumbs. It's also painful af and feels really damaged.

Hey coach, thanks for great demonstration and drill again! I want to know in what order do you teach skills? 1) punch and than defense of that punch or ALL punches FIRST and than ALL defenses? 2) do you teach everything in shadow first (all techniques withou equpiment/partner) OR concurent practice of one technique?; jab in shadow, jab at bag/mitts, jab with partner? I hope my question is clear 😁🙏

Typically I teach all the punches first with proper technique then move onto defense. I’ll have my fighters do drills with others, hit the heavy bag, do some mitt work and then some weightlifting
