Just to update you based on your first chalaan, also please check, in Kerala, camera mount on helmat is not allowed, it may be a rule in some other states, check for all rules when u entered on a state with local trafic official

This process of challan is to give lesson to the one who is breaking certain rule. But most importantly this process avoids corruption as the challan amount goes directly to the department's official account. This avoids the flow of cash.

100 % agree this is the correct way . All respect to the Sikkim Traffic police. However they could digitalise the challan system . Most Indian citizens use UPI mode of payments . I once had the similar experience in Gangtok and it was a pain .
