You guys complaining about the snap not being in place. In today's modern RnB many elements of the track are on the off beat to compliment the previous sound, which in this case is the snare.

I feel you on that. Because personally like things different even though I do understand where they coming from because your mind wants the snap to hit that spot but it doesn't, however I will say that when I was listening to it just now I think the snap would be fine where it is more so if she turned it down a bit more, made it more subtle with some reverb and widened it.

Snaps aren't off just on the up beat and it isn't nothing new. We did it in the 90's as well! But sometimes I would do and off time to get that lazy or flam sound. Neo soul music is off or very live sounding without using time correct!!

Really feelin' the vibe for this track. I was like "that can't be all to make this?" But in the end it all came together and girl those vocals made me fall in love with it even more. Not hating on Drake but he doesn't need to be this, you can do bad all by yourself. Not too many women cooking in the studio like this, so you're definitely unique. It's not as quick as it seems in these videos ;) It definitely takes time - especially using stock sounds. But with time, I have seen I know what I want more quickly than before so all I can say is #keepmakinbeats ;)

You don't muddy it up with too many or unneeded tracks. a lot of time you pick the stock sounds and you have to edit them in the actual synth, in imamusicmogul's tutorials he does that a lot so you can go from there, also you can just add effects to the stock sounds
