Currently refurbishing a 1966 Scotty Sportsman. Did Scotty originally have someone supply them 8' X 10' plywood at the factory? My plywood sides are one piece from the front to the back. No seams.

what about thin plywood and then fiberglassing it . i 'm a newbee fooling around with boats and started to learn to use fiberglass to strengthen the wood. i even heard of using cardboard and then fiberglassing it ? enjoying your progress i want to try one myself

Weight wise I wonder how much heavier it is than stick frame?sure looks easier with plywood though.great idea.

I love your show. It has helped me so much. I am rebuilding my first vintage camper. It is a 1966 Alladdin Solstice Camper made in Hillsboro, Oregon. I am having to rebuild it as there was water damage in the frame, especially in the curves. Do you think this method would be good to follow?

I see this method used on many styles and models. Make sure you take lots of pictures and try to follow the way it was built. Good luck

With spraying the wood down with water or soaking it help it curve more?

a friend and i have been slowly rebulding her serro scotty for a while now. we have the walls up and roof on and i am doing some work on the inside now. today i was testing the fit on the skins to the walls and i think somehow something went wrong and it seems the structure is a little bigger than the trailer skins. im feeling a bit panicked and hoping you might be able to give me a little advice. ive watched many of your videos and did the wall tracing how you showed but somehow it is turning out strangely. please help!

Too big is better than too small. once you build the top rail and place the insulation on the roof you can fit the tin and then take a marker and trace the excess and then trim it up. Good luck on your build.

@@RobTheRebuilder thanks for responding, it’s the trailer structure that is too big and the tin too small. I think I may have added one too many layers to the top rail. It seems pretty hard to pull off without pulling it all out. Is it ok the put the j-rail on with the long side on the sides of the trailer instead of the top, I think that might make enough to cover? Or Is there anything else I might do to remedy the situation?
