Ep 10 - Pamir Highway Best Adventure Riding Road in the World?

This is my adventure riding the Pamir Highway from Dushanbe through to Sara-Tash in Kyrgyzstan. On my way I encountered extensive road works as the Chinese rebuilt the section that follows the Afghanistan border, had to wait out some tricky weather conditions and found myself having an unexpected, prolonged stay at a Kyrgyzstan military compound. I was attempting to be one of the first tourist through this border in over 18 months following a conflict over disputed borders and water. Hope you enjoy!

Awesome man, I would highly recommend adventuring to Tajikistan one day, it was an incredible place to visit. Great idea to learn Russian, all of these Stan countries are ex Soviet Union so speak Russian as a second language, so that would very much come in handy!

Hello Evan, it took you so long to edit this video, but is very good. Please tell us about off road in your journey. How many Kmts (more or less) of off road did you find in Russia, Kazahastan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan & Mongolia. Thanks & regaards.

Thank you for the feedback :) Depending on the route, but most of the Pamir Highway routes that I did was off road, so I would guess around 800km. Tajikistan certainly had the most off road sections. In Uzbekistan the road from the border with Kazakhstan and Nukus was in such bad condition it is effectively off road, so another 300km there. Russia is all asphalt unless you take some detours, again you could do the entirety of Mongolia on Asphalt to Ulunbataar, but i did around 300km off road, and there are really endless off road options in Mongolia. Hope this helps :)

I didn't have any issue with river crossings, levels were quite low. The trick is to ride in the morning when the glacier melt is at its slowest if it is hot when your there @@kezjones8206
