have an very old Yamaha YT624 i have had it for 14 years got it 2nd hand so no telling how old it really is It still runs great but some of the parts are seeing their age so i have been contemplating getting a new snowblower and keeping the old girl for a backup ...your videos have helped me a lot on helping me make a decision on what will be the next snow toy ... .Thank you

I would suggest a rematch with a swap in operators... plus it appears that the Honda has some type of aftermarket spoiler installed on the front bucket.

I bought a Honda HS55W in 1984. About 3 years later, I recommended it to my neighbor but he didn't buy it because he wanted something "better". He bought a comparable Yamaha with tracks and electric start. About 3 years later, the starter motor went bad and when he discovered that Yamaha wanted $400 for a new starter, he got rid of it. By the way. I still have my Honda!

Yeah that could of happened to the Honda as well. Yamaha and Honda build quality are on par with each other.

Let’s talk about how the Honda measures the HP at the drive not the Auger like Yamaha. I think there was litigation over that. I still prefer my Yamaha. It easily keeps up with my neighbours bigger Honda. However they are getting more expensive year over year. Mine is 4 years old I think I paid 2799 and now the same blower is 3599 now. There are still guys around here(Newfoundland) with Yamaha’s from the 70’s before they stopped making them and went into production again.

Yamaha still cheaper than the Honda, but Yamaha doesn’t have power steering.
@SoleEpiphany2 жыл бұрын
@@danlux4954 here the difference is closer every year in cost, I think the only one without power is the 6/24 the bigger two do I believe. Even Ariens and Husqvarna charge Honda prices now lol. Only cheap stuff is all the crap under the MTD umbrella

They're both great machines made by equally reputable manufacturers, it just comes down to personal preference, there is no "better" machine. If you own a Honda or Yamaha then of course you will say its better than the other but rationally they are both great.

love my Honda HSS1336, changed the $6.00 carburetor jet for richer mix and more torque. Yamaha seems good also, boils down to particular features and dealer in your region, Honda has better resale value based on perceived reliability 😊

The Honda was throwing the snow out further in the strength test one, which meant the snow was spread out further than just directly in front of the bucket. The Yamaha’s double jointed chute allowed the snow to be shot directly down in front, which means it had more snow to blow

both are cool👌👍

FUN to watch! I love both machines and will b hard pushed to make a choice. Edit: And this is totally pointless and on the wrong criteria! The slower machine only means the driver will get more QUALITY time working it, enjoying the pleasure of snoclearing. But well done, very enjoyable film.

Great videos Luc, Do you find that the Yamaha snowblower is large enough for Timmins winters, my driveway is interlock large enough for 5 vehicles
@lucgallant3 жыл бұрын
Hi Paul, yes, my driveway fits four vehicles and this snowblower is more than enough.

YOU ONLY HAVE ONE CHOICE? COLOR?? BECAUSE YOU WIN WITH BOTH. THE TEFLON CHUTE IS VERY ATTRACTIVE NOT MENTIONED. BUT THEY ARE BOTH AMAZING ESPECIALLY IN WET SNOW. THAT'S THE REAL TEST. ANY CHEAP BLOWER CAN HANDLE POWDER IT'S THE WET SHIT THAT IS A TURE MEASURE. BOTH ARE GREAT. color?? only choice

The Yamaha is nearly 50 lbs heavier, is that because of build quality? Someone said the Honda engines aren’t the same quality as the older models, can anyone comment on this?

This can`t be Canada. Not once did one of you guys say, "Aey"
@WJCTechyman3 жыл бұрын
Aey is what the Fonz says, we say, "Eh" in Canada. It's not like we end each sentence with it. It's usually following a question.

I still like my Yamaha lol..... it sounds quieter than the Honda
@lucgallant4 жыл бұрын
Yes it did, but, the Honda has had more time to age.
@WJCTechyman3 жыл бұрын
The two machines are practically identical, save for the engine, colour and chute liner on the Yamaha. I like the idea of the liner on the Yamaha the best.

Look closely, the Yamaha throws further
