I was playing along without seeing the word and "not allowed, in jail" etc. made me think of things like "prohibited." When I learned the word was "illegal," I thought to get me there, he would have to mention it was "against the law." Otherwise, I'm thinking of "no trespassing" signs, etc.

I was playing along with the bonus round while covering the words and I couldn't get "illegal" either. Should have said "against the law." He was tripped up not being able to say "legal."

"It's like a curtain for your face...why don't you just get the full drapes?" Dang, Melissa is funny! With the first round, Melissa said a word and they didn't hear her. If they don't ask her to repeat, she can't repeat without losing a word! Guessers really need to say 'repeat' when they miss a word. It's surprising how often that happens. Also, everyone was wasting so many words with 'opposite' and 'synonym' - which isn't a good choice when the answer can easily be guessed without it. But the ultimate irony was that "opposite lawful" would probably have worked in the money round!!

Synonym is sometimes necessary. If you say "mouth" they don't know if you're saying "chew, eat, talk" or if you're trying to get to "lips."

@@johnsmi213 You’ve said this before and I disagree. If I say mouth with neutral intonation, the default interpretation is that I’m looking for a synonym. Using synonym for 2/9 words is especially amateurish.
