James is brilliant. He understands and explains the Gospel better than most Christians. I pray God would open his eyes and heart and draw James to Himself.

30 year retired educator here, and the answer is no, you cannot trust the public education system. Homeschool your little ones any which way you can.

The issue with kids not being able to read or write may not be due to radicalized teaching in the classroom. That is not clear. The school districts that seem to be struggling with no proficiently educated kids are also high poverty (Baltimore). The primay factor in the lack of educational success in such schools may be less about radical teachers and more about surrounding factors of lack of parental involvement, no culture at home or in the community championing academic excllence, etc.

The destruction of the American family plus the Marxification of education is the perfect storm for the destruction of our youth. If parents, from impoverished areas or not, knew or cared about what is happening in education, they would take them out of the broken system. I know so many families, who are not impoverished, who have no clue as to what their kids are learning and some could care less, as long as they get the grades they want them to have. As a retired HS US History teacher, I taught students who came into my class and within the first week or two of school, told me that they hated America, based on what previous teachers had told them. The parents who are involved and pushing their kids in education, are pushing them, unknowingly, into Marxist indoctrination. The Marxification of education is successful for both the affluent and the impoverished.

It is both, but rather than teaching just the facts, teachers are taught to be activists in the classroom-pushing the idea that America is a racist, oppressive, country that must be deconstructed and reimagined as “equitable,” meaning Marxist.

I partly agree. The part I think is important is that those radical teachers/admins were not unaware of the lack of parental involvement-and in fact capitalize on it. You will hear them use it as justification for why they need to do SEL. Yes, lack of parent involvement is a big factor in math and literacy rates, but it’s also a key factor in radicalization. There are only so many minutes in a period. If the focus isn’t closing gaps in literacy and math, then you will not close the gaps in literacy and math.

Parents, taxpayers, need to check the destruction of education. The federal and state departments of Ed do a lot to hurt and skew local public school districts. Talk to representatives that could help with funding, unfunded mandates, coercive standardized tests, federal laws that have been reinterpreted, etc. Talk to your local school board representatives--find out what problems they are struggling with, and, let them know what kind of education you want in schools as a parent/taxpayer. We will lose our republic entirely if our children (and ourselves) do not know how to live in a self-governing constitutional republic.

I raised my children to look at a problem from several sides; the cc was a challenge to them but I helped them through it. I was an electrical engineer and as such, I had to seek several answers to every question. My kids learned the same style. When the school held a "back to school night" I was sure to attend. Boy, were the sorry!

Education should be culturally relevant in the broad sense--education should inculcate the broad culture and history of their society. So, in the case of the United States, it should be Western Civilization-oriented. There should be smaller elements of other cultures, too, since we Americans are from everywhere, but the main focus should be Western since that is where our founding derives from.

The Ed system claims CRT = Culturally Relevant Education. For them though it means leftist education. Teaching about all the immigrants cultures, black culture, but not the American culture, anti-racism (anti-white) but not our system of government.

We should have had a K-12 National Recommended Reading List decades ago. 100 books for kindergarten 200 books for 1st grade 300 books for 2nd grade etc. That would be 9100 for K-12. *The Tyranny of Words* (1938) by Stuart Chase George Orwell mentioned Chase in an essay on politics. Chase published the book, *A New Deal* shortly before FDR's famous speech. He was a member of FDR's brain trust. I could have read that in high school if I had heard of it. Better than Catcher in the Rye. There is lots of old sci-fi free on the Internet now: *Omnilingual* by H Beam Piper *The Fourth "R"* by George O. Smith *Space Prison* by Tom Godwin *Little Fuzzy* by H. Beam Piper *The Servant Problem* by Robert F. Young *Deathworld* by Harry Harrison *Black Man's Burden* & *Border, Breed nor Birth* by Mack Reynolds *The Status Civilization* by Robert Sheckley

1:05:53 Wouldn't the next step then be the "State" telling individuals whom to marry, or be in a relationship with. Maybe even whom should be "allowed" to reproduce the way the Old Soviets reward was the "Heretic's" old apartment, or job, or Party Position or whatever. Talk about Eugenics.

I’m Brazilian and I can affirm that dr. Lindsay is correct. Paulo Freire has destroyed our education. People nowadays just cannot understand one simple sentence or orientation. They read the words, but don’t understand their meaning. It’s desperately sad.
