Lovely episode gents, finally got a Chiefs episode and zero disappointments. I have to agree with Sive when he said the family business model is kinda slacking. There's a need for agents who aren't necessarily concerned with traditions and etc. but instead how to elevate the club as a whole because it's current state? Chiefs is so cooked, not even Rulani Mokwena can save it😭. Classic almost principal-agent problem, except there are no agents that are pursuing their own interests it's the principals pursuing their own familial interests.

We have to agree. The main issue is that within the family business there seems to be pulling in different directions. Or as classic SA corporates would have it, fiefdoms. This in its nature causes rifts. However we can't leave the blame at the boardroom level only. How many coaches have these players sacked? They too need to account.

If you remember back in the day, chiefs had partners i.e. Primedia and they really excelled then. Since the end of that partnership the club started the decline. Right now I feel like they buy the wrong players or buy players past their prime. Also, the Zim players had some magic at chiefs and we don't seem to have that formula now.

Good shout there GuyOnBike, in terms of strategic business partnerships. We think Chiefs is still doing okay but has allowed sponsors and partners to have a say in their on field decisions. The formula of scouting and acquiring players needs to be overhauled as the current squad is awful.

@@TheMatchUpTV I don't think the family has the pockets to buy the best, Sundowns has such pockets and hence its dominance. At Chiefs from way back we as supporters have been complaining about the family especially Bobby. Unfortunately at this point I've lost interest and I'm not immersed in the operations of iKhosi. The current Chiefs players don't deserve to be there.

@@GuyOnBikeSA So you agree with our suggestion that the family model need's to take a hand's off approach and find qualified sports administrators to move the club into the new era of football?
