Dr. Cholenahally Nanjappa Manjunath, known as Dr. C N Manjunath, is a renowned cardiologist, who was the director of Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences & Research for 18 years, the largest Heart Care Centre in Southeast Asia. Under his leadership, the institute introduced 'Treatment First and Payment Next', praised by former U.S. President Barack Obama for providing high-quality cardiac care at affordable rates.
Recipient of the Padma Shri, India's fourth highest civilian award, Dr Manjunath is also the son-in-law of HD Deve Gowda, former Prime Minister of India. He is now contesting in the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha polls on a BJP ticket against DK Suresh, brother of Karnataka's Deputy CM DK Shivakumar, from the Bengaluru Rural seat. This election is seen as a battle for leadership within the Vokkaliga community, to which both candidates belong.

He is a wonderful man, I have seen his work closely at Jayadeva Hospital, he is a man with vision and a go getter. His mantra in Jayadeva was Treatment First Payment Next, no patient was denied treatment due to lack of money. His expansion of Jayadeva in Karnataka is just amazing. His leadership & adminstrative skills are excellent. He should win and should be the Health Minister of India.

Jayadeva is Karnataka govt owned hospital. Manjunath was the last director of the hospital. It's not his private hospital by the way.

It's the sheer dedication of Dr.Manjunath that has made the jayadeva what it is now. You can look for what kind of hospital jayadeva was before he took the leadership 20yrs ago.

@@rangashamaiahrangu5604 Where did I say his leadership wasn't up to the mark? I just said it a govt owned organisation. Many have the misconception that he is the owner, he sets the fees etc etc. Moreover there are only 3 jayadeva hospitals across Karnataka. It's a different ball game altogether to manage 1000s at the same time throughout the state. Higher the number, lower the efficiency in management.

My dad has taken the treatment in his Jayadeva Hospital.... really it is one of the best Hospital in Karnataka.... The hospital staffs from D group to doctors behave very nicely with the patients.. the hygienic of the hospital is also maintain very good.. cost of the operation is also low... Over all the Management by Manjunath sir really extraordinary... 🙏

Had the opportunity to meet him twice over 15 years due to medical emergencies in my circle. A very competent cardiologist, very able administrator and a great human being. His people first approach is very much appreciated. Its really wonderful that such a person has agreed to stand for a public office. He would be a great asset in any government. I have experienced the empathy of Dr. Manjunath in person. My cousin was admitted in Jayadeva after a heart attack. I was running in the corridor with the file. Dr. Manjunath who was speaking with the admin staff just happened to notice and came to me. Looked at the file and gave advice. He was genuinely concerned about patients.

My best wishes to Dr. Manjunath and my greatest living god. I met Doctor on several occasion as my Mother was his patient. Years of my Mother expired I had discomfort and he was then Director of Jayadeva Hospital. Trust me I walked in to Jayadeva Hospital years before COVID and met his PA and requested for appointment and was given immediately no questions asked. Doctor spoke to me and understood my concerns he recommended for TESTS that was done instantly and reviewed my Reports identified the issue and warned me of my future and suggested to take care. Today I am writing this comment and must say a BIG thank you and Gratitude to the Dr. Manjunath 🙏🙏🙏 Great, Humble, Listener, Gentle and always Smiling 🙂half of you cardio issues disappear when you meet him 🙂
