In this episode, former pro rugby player Chris Mattina joined the pod to discuss his 8 year pro career on the rugby pitch, the highs and lows of it all. Chris retired in November of 2024 after being a capped USA Eagle in both 15's and 7's rugby. Chris started his rugby career at Xavier High School in New York, then attended the University of Delaware, then joined the USA 7's program, he later played for the Eagles 15's squad as well as the 7's squad, where he played in 24 matches on the HSBC World Sevens Series for the U.S. Chris later played in Major League Rugby, the only pro rugby league in the United States, where he played for 4 different sides in MLR. He's now retired from playing and works as an academy coach and is heavily involved in the MLRPA, working with the players and teams in Major League Rugby. Great conversation w/Chris on his career and his transition out of the game.
