Kapil Sibal is an Indian lawyer and politician. A designated Senior Advocate at the Supreme Court of India, Sibal earned the reputation as one of the country's prominent lawyers. He also serves as a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha. Sibal served as a minister under Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, holding various portfolios. In this role, he led Indian delegations at international forums. His tenure was marked by several controversies, including his attempts to regulate internet content.
In 2022, Sibal left the Indian National Congress to independently file his nomination for the Rajya Sabha, with support from the Samajwadi Party. He was subsequently re-elected as President of the Bar Association in the Supreme Court for the 2024-25 term.

The line of questioning for a lawyer must have been different. Lawyer plus politician is a deadly combination. Lawyers are good in overlooking obvious things and highlighting what suits their narrative. Yeh journalists ke baap hote hai. Ayushman Bharath is a slogan? NEP is not about education? If there were funds for infrastructure development according to his own admission , suddenly we become bankrupt for judicial reform? He easily avoided all questions on why he left congress. Why could the congress in his time could not sell the dreams to people? There were so many good administrators in congress why could they not bring any other PM candidate? Scindia, Pilot, Kamal Nath, any of their state leaders could have been brought to fore front if they are really serious about policies, democracy. I heard once Karan Thapar saying that he prepares for five layers of cross questioning to his guests where he wants to grill.
