Homesickness = self-focused attention. The fastest way out of self-focused attention is: 1. Becoming aware of it; 2. Shift your focus to actions that help those outside/around you. Keep making the lives of those around you better. The boost of dopamine, serotonin, and oxytocin that follows will arrest those homesickness symptoms in their tracks.

My vision is correctable to 20/20, but I'm still getting PRK because I feel like A&S will SUCK with glasses or contacts. Something on that note, my recruiter recommended PRK instead of Lasik if possible and that it's best to get your eye surgery done before enlisting. There is a Six Month wait period after eye surgery, so it needs to be done and tracked well before you ship. If you guys want eye surgery, TALK TO YOUR RECRUITER. They will send you a form to give to your optometrist, make sure that is done correctly, follow up appointments are maintained, and your recovery is tracked properly.
