Ep. 195 FINISHING THE GLASS PORTION WITH CUSTOM FUSED GLASS ON MY PERSONAL LANDSCAPE MOSAIC!
Hey Everyone! Welcome to my studio!
07 A look at where I left off on my personal landscape mosaic based on the Landscape of Dunwoody mosaic. I have a bit of fused foliage left to do. I am using Silicone adhesive for the glass portion on this mosaic.
25 I have cut up a few fused pieces that didn't fit and I will re-fuse them to round out the edges in the kiln.
08 It only take a few minutes to load the kiln since I don't need much to finish up.
56 Ah, the transition swaths under the trees. I talk about my strategy with them.
32 I proceed to cut and adhere the transition swath under the trees in a crazy paving way.
39 The next day I open the kiln and wohoo! I wash them and get them on the mosaic. T'here is a bit of room to add the smaller pieces as needed. Then I work on the transition swath again.
13 I'm talking about the rounds here! I refer back to panel 1 on the Landscape of Dunwoody to see what we used (it's been 6 months since we did this panel!)
02 I start by cutting some fusible glass into strips for the base glass. I use the grid as a guide. I cut a bunch of strips and squares.
35 I stop and fix my scoring tool because the end came off! It just needs to be screwed back on. Then I load the kiln, stacking the larger squares and adding bits of contrasting color on top. Some I leave as is so we will have some plain ones to use as well.
32 They are ready for the kiln. That took about 2 hours to prep!
35 It's the next day and they came out great! So pretty!
57 I attempt to show the difference between the different stacking techniques.
35 I ended up sorting them by color so I could choose a nice range.
06 I decide not to use the inclusions on the sun rays area.
That's Putting It Together Ep. 195. Thanks for watching! See you next time.
