It seems like the conflict between Teresa and Mel went so much out of control, that Mel decided to join the show and settle the score. T will never forgive that & have never missed an opportunity to have a dig at Mel. You would think after all these years..? And the cousins? Teresa hasn't had an easy life & it seems like she projects all her difficulties onto her brother and Mel. Teresa is so "messed up", she would benefit of getting professional help to sort out cause and effect of different situations. She hasn't got any awareness. She could use guidance (not Luis). After this discussion I realized that Delores has successfully been Theresa’s friend for this many years because she (admittingly) does not ask nor allow Theresa to tell her about any troubles going on in Theresa’s life as she does not want to know. Jacqueline should have stuck with Tre from the start because that is what a real friend does and she wouldn’t have gone against production trying to get Mel to mend. She didn’t even have to fight Tre’s family. She 100% over analyzed it and Jac doesn’t listen to what people feel or “ read the room.” Tre wanted loyalty or have her back; she wanted to be validated. Jac ended up making more issues for herself. It seems she secretly was mad and jealous that Tre was getting popular and making money from it that is what made her get closer to Melissa.

The family wanted what they wanted not what Joe wanted. His family sounds incredibly controlling. There's a psychiatrist on KZbin who analyzed Teresa's dynamic with her brother and he asses that Teresa's need to be the matriarch of the family is the root of the problem. She so wants to be the head of the family and Melissa gets in the way. Sounds like the real reason why Teresa wanted Joe to marry his first fiancée is because she bowed down to Teresa. It's very sad how it all played out. All said and done Joe & Melissa look very happy. They have a lot of fun together. Their children are meant to be here. Teresa needs to get over it and she can't which is the crux of this show and why this show ended the way it has.

I feel like when Melissa first got on the show that there was obviously hard feelings, pettiness, jealousy between BOTH her and Teresa…Teresa in no way wanted to share the spotlight with her sister-n-law and brother or her cousins and their family, she didn’t want any of them apart of the show to gain opportunities and have better lives. We all understand perfectly…and we’ve all watched season after season become more and more toxic with how much Teresa hates her family members and has wanted them gone and off “her” show until she ultimately destroyed the show with all the ugliness. I’ll always be team Melissa because I think she’s tried hard in trying to fix and heal the relationship just to again and again get burned by Teresa and Melissa has carried herself with grace and integrity throughout all of the messiness as far as I see it. I enjoyed watching Jacqueline, Caroline and their families on the show and I enjoyed Kim D too but Kim D and Jacqueline flip flop so much on Teresa and Melissa…so I take all their info with a grain of salt and many eye rolls!

It also can't have been easy for Joe? The heart wants what it wants. And Mel not feeling accepted or good enough? This is actually not a very uncommon situation. It leads to heartbreak for everyone. Ultimately, many are more loyal to the person they will create a new life with, than their parents. And husbands defends their wives. Like if the motherinlaw attack the wife, the husband, if forced, stays on their wifes side (unless the wife objectively did very wrong). I can understand that T got upset when her brother & SIL joined the show with a mission to attack. A family out of control. I can also understand that Mel & Joe saw this opportunity. In the end, even if we understand the different perspectives, it's not an excuse for poor behavior? But it has made great TV. The feud is what kept the show alive. They all got fame & money. Their feud was monetized. The question is if it was worth it? Teresa will never accept Mel. Nothing Mel can do will be good enough & T never miss an opportunity to have a dig. You would think that after all these years.. and cousins that want to be a family...? No, no T has involved her children. But looking back, T doesn't seem happier today? She spoke about having peace and being relieved?

I enjoyed this and 100% believe all of it. There was no huge surprises but confirms a lot. Melissa was hired to come on because she was willing to fight with Theresa and air all personal family business.
