Although what is said of the adherence to ideology in the face of change is true, It's also true that nothing lasts and those who build will be built upon.

Cicero’s Achilles heel was that he was an idealist and didn’t see the writing on the wall. The voices in be ground mattered but the purple robed senator was keen on preserving the status quo rather than going with the flow. We owe a lot to him and his writings and his art of speech still stands relevant to this day.

Cicero’s speeches against Verres expose the widespread corruption among Rome’s elite and reflect his belief that justice and moral leadership are vital to the survival of the Republic. lol I find Verres interesting
