I had my own experience in 2006. I am not a Catholic, but have great respect for both Pope John Paul II and Cardinal Henry Newman. In 2006, I was unwell. I had my next appointment with my GP in two days' time. I was so ill that I could not wait. When the doctor saw me, he arranged for me to go to the hospital. After a day of observation, a nursing sister sat on my bed, held my hand, and told me that I had, at most, 48 hours to live. I cried for three hours. I kept looking out of the window at the blue sky, thinking, "That is the last sky I am going to see!" Despite not being a Catholic, I prayed to John Paul and to Henry Newman. I asked for the strength to cope with the coming hours. I also prayed for my parents, who, I knew, would be devastated by the loss of their only child. Shortly after praying, I felt a very strange feeling. I can not describe it accurately. It felt like someone had wrapped me in a warm blanket and given me a hot drink. I was warm inside and out. I felt calmness wash over me like waves on a beach. Then, I felt an inner strength swell up, almost engulfing me. For the next two days, medical staff tip-toed around me. I heard nurses quietly shushing people with the words, "Quiet, there is a man dying in there!" Scary stuff, but I wasn't upset. I lay there feeling strangely happy. After 48 hours, I became talked about all over the hospital. I only knew that because a neighbour, who worked at the hospital, had heard and visited me during her break. I was being called "the man who wouldn't die", which made me laugh. A few days later, confused doctors let me go home. 18 months later, at a check-up, the doctor said that he had had to discuss my case with some experts in the field. He did not understand it, and neither did they. I was cured. The doctor made me smile. He said that they had all decided that only one word explained it. The word was miracle. I do not say that I experienced a miracle. I'm not important enough. However, sometimes I wonder whether, in fact, the Holy Spirit visited me that day. I do know one thing. I have had the same feeling on two other occasions when I was feeling desperate. So, perhaps, I am a better person than I think. I never forget to thank John Paul and Henry Newman. I try to live up to their standards.

Bible has incredible scientific accuracy like round Earth and the hydrologic cycle and jet streams much more. It is taken literally as a necessity.
