Your miniatures look great. I have just finished painting my Abominarat and starting to paint the Abominatroll. Keep up the good work.

What an awesome painting tutorial! The music just makes it perfect. Really good job

Thank you very much :) I sorted through a LOT of song on the Free Music Archive before I found a handful of songs that sounded like they could be from a "medieval" fantasy game. There's some pretty great stuff on there.

I must say, H&B...I just recently received Black Plague and Wulfsburg as an early Christmas gift...and now I've seen your and Sorastro's painting guides, and I'm inspired to go get paints! You're both talented mini painters...and you both also do quite well making tutorials! Keep it up! :3

Thank you very much! Painting is a LOT of fun. It brings out all the details you wouldn't normally see. I hope you enjoy the game - Black Plague is my favorite version of the Zombicide games!
@nixiestarlight1586 жыл бұрын
Hmm...first time ANY content creator has responded to one of my comments...well, one of the first times. Yeah, I love it and have already been playing a bit of the core game. Tried season 1 thanks to a local game shop having a game library. Painting them all sounds fun but also intimidating because of how tiny they are. Maybe I should get a magnifying lamp thing. :P
@HeroesBosses6 жыл бұрын
@@nixiestarlight158 Well if you do take up the hobby feel free to ask questions any time! I would definitely recommend a magnifying glass, especially for small details. I use a magnifying headset most of the time, but I also have a standing magnifying glass.

Quick Shade is so amazing.
@HeroesBosses8 жыл бұрын
I 100% agree. In my next video however I'll be painting one of the heroes using washes. I love the dark & dirty look of the quickshade, it's great for Black Plague.
@h8uall668 жыл бұрын
+Heroes & Bosses same here. Any time I do undead, dirty animals, or anything that needs to look dirty I use quick shade. On heroes or anything that needs to look more bright I'll go with washes.

It looks great, well done! Maybe some dry brush on the hair would be good but your result is wonderful!

Yes I agree. I tried some dry brushing as part of the final touches but the result wasn't as good as I liked, so I stopped.

You did an awesome job on this one. It's funny how I don't really like this model unpainted (might be the posture or the fact that it looks so slim) but once painted, wow. It looks absolutely terrifically terrifying ! Kudos on the base painting as well. Well done.

Wow, brilliant. I have been paining mostly Games Workshop models for years only using GW paints. Which paints and brushes do you prefer? When I use a pallet for mixing, I find the paints keeps drying to quickly for me to use a pallet effectively? Any tips.
@HeroesBosses8 жыл бұрын
Thanks :) To be honest, one of my favorite brushes is an 80 cent brush that I picked up at a craft store - but it's useless for fine detail. I typically use Artist's Loft or Windsor & Newton brushes - they are decent quality and slightly cheaper than GW brushes - though I have plenty of GW brushes too. I've had zero luck with Army Painter brushes - I had 4, and all of them frayed after 1-2 uses. As for paint, I really can't tell the difference between Army Painter or GW. I just buy whatever I can get my hands on at the time. In my next video I'm using pretty much only GW paint. As for paint drying out - not much you can do! I usually mix my paint at least 2:1 paint to water, sometimes it's 1:1 (half water, half paint).

Thank you, I will watch your videos and get more tips and hints. My painting is good, but my detail painting, straight lines, and blending needs work.

I would like to start painting my minis, but before I try to gather all the information I need. Your videos are great. But I still have 1 or 2 question. When you apply the primer, how many time you wait before starting to paint? (to let the primer dry) also, when you paint, how many time it take to dry before putting another layer? Finally, can you, from start to finish, paint a mini in 1 day or it take more time with all the drying "session" ? Thanks a lot, I'll keep browsing in your videos soon enough hehe
@HeroesBosses8 жыл бұрын
After the primer I usually wait 2 hours or more. If you pick up the mini and it feels cool, that means it's still drying. After each layer of paint, you usually only need a few minutes, especially if you are just painting many layers of the same color. As for painting all in 1 day, I can put all the base colors on in 1 day, but then I wait 24 hours before using the Army Painter Quickshade. If you don't, it can make a mess! After the quickshade is on, wait at least 24 hours before spraying it with the matt varnish. The matt varnish dries in about 2 hours, but it couldn't hurt to wait longer before putting more paint on it.

Also, I'd start with something simple, like the zombies. Sorastro give's a great explanation of how to get started: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gn6yhaCFmM1-r7M
@rizar19828 жыл бұрын
Cool, thanks a lot for the answer. I think that will be a very frustrating process... but I think I'll give it a try hehe =) Do you have any suggestions for starting kit for the stuff I might need? Brushes, paint etc...
@HeroesBosses8 жыл бұрын
I'd get a size 0, size 1 and size 2 brush, and they usually cost $4-8 each for good ones. If you can find some cheap brushes at craft store, I'd get some of those too, just for mixing paint, dry brushing, etc. I do a lot of my first coats of paint with an $0.80 brush. As for color - you definitely need white, a dark grey & brown. After that I'd just get a few shades of red, yellow, green & blue. The Warpaints Zombie Paint Set is a really good investment. www.amazon.com/Warpaints-Zombicide-Black-Plague-Paint/dp/B01A03D55I/ref=pd_sim_21_4/177-1436195-3583532?ie=UTF8&dpID=519FaNNP%2ByL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160%2C160_&refRID=QAFMN7NW4HYC56NFARCK

Great job ! What is the reason you highlight after the varnish ?
@HeroesBosses6 жыл бұрын
If you're going to use the Quickshade, it makes the model very smooth, and hard for paint to stick to. You should always use a matt varnish on the model if you want to do any highlighting on top of Quickshade.

Got it !! I have rarely washed entirely a mini . Have you ever used vallejo dipping formula ? And do you know the difference between army painter shade and vallejo formula
@HeroesBosses6 жыл бұрын
I've never heard of the Vallejo dipping formula! I'll have to check that out - maybe I'll do a comparison video. Have you tried the Vallejo formula yet?
@jean-nicolasgagnon99606 жыл бұрын
Yes, I belive there is no difference between their wash and dipping formula except the size of the pot

Hi! Great tutorial, thank you! What you think, if i dont have quickshade, i can replace it with zombieshader or some other shader/wash? Thanks for the help!
@HeroesBosses8 жыл бұрын
Kis Nord You could definitely replace it with zombie shader, or Agrax Earthshade or Nuln Oil by Citadel. The Quickshade is a dark brown, pretty much the same as Zombie Shader.
