Ep. 20 - knitting the Forest Keys Vest, a free hand towel pattern, and future summer knit plans

Hey Everyone,
I was going to post this right as I found the news broke of Roe v. Wade. I held off to keep the space for us all to process the news. I decided to post today because I, and maybe some of you, sometimes need to take a break from what's going on in the world, for our mental health. Especially during a period in our life where it seems we are consistently getting bad news on a weekly basis. I hope this provides a small break, but I am also here to talk about it if you need.

Oh yes of course! A couple people have asked about it 😊 it’s called Sanderling from Behr and I used a matte finish 🙂

I have one of Teti's patterns, with the reverse colorwork/floats on the face. I am a little bit intimidated, because she warns that tension is really important to make it look smooth. Maybe I'll try it in the autumn when cold weather will inspire me.

Oooh yeah! I think that is very similar to the pattern I’m making too. I think for the long floats I catch the other color every 3 stitches so there’s no chance of puckering and it’s been coming out pretty smooth. Hopefully that makes sense 😂 I’m already excited for autumn for all the warmer knits!

I really like the beige/ivory colored dress you are wearing. Did you make it? If so, what pattern? I am crocheting a pattern with a 4 row pattern repeat and it's very hard to memorize. So, I get it.

I DID make it 😃 actually it was the first garment I ever sewed. It’s the Fawn Dress from Common Stitch and I highly recommend it. Super easy instructions with a great result ✨

Using their Pima cotton yarn. Her Perfect Tee pattern comes in crochet and knit. Of course I haven’t made it yet. But it’s on my list lol. Love your hand towels.

Thank you for acknowledging the mess that we are facing with the conservative politicians and their voters/supporters pushing their hatred and ideologies onto all of us legislatively. I hope that you are registering to vote in Wisconsin, a state that needs all the progressive voices! Blessings. The glimpses of your new home are lovely. That stairwell is stunning, I don't know if you do Christmas trees, but, what a great space for one if you do. You are certainly curating a lovely ascetic for your space!

Oh I DEFINITELY plan to vote and I look forward doing it in an area that a progressive vote can go a long way! Not saying voting elsewhere isn’t helpful but I’m confident Hennepin county will still be ok without my vote.

@@brookwillow Yep. Hennepin County has its problems (ugh, Jacob Frey and his love of the police), but I do love that I get to vote for Ilhan on the regular (of course no one is perfect, but big picture her voting stances align with my world view for the most part, always a bonus to me).
