Why oat probe so far out and on the wing. My Mooney has one installed on the boot cowl essentially. Less wire run for the instrument that needs it?

It's a Garmin probe used in conjunction with the G3X. It'll be used for true airspeed calculations, etc. I'd like it to be as accurate as possible. The Garmin installation manual says to mount it out of direct sunlight and to avoid being downstream of the engine compartment. Most builders are mounting them under the wing.
