What about a homosexual man, like myself, who is not drawn to singleness but forced into it because every sexual and romantic thought I've ever had and ever will have is something I have to repent of. How can I stop this soul crushing loneliness I experience every day of my life with no hope of ever getting to spend my life with someone I'm attracted to and love.

The Beauty of Singleness - The glory of having a singular focus of how to please The Lord - No worries of being married and making your day busy (marriage is still beautiful) but less worries because of singleness can be a pro - Undistracted eyes that can be attentive to scripture, devoted to prayer, to worship, and to community, when married, it’s a lot more juggling - You can daily look at The Gospel to satisfy, as it should be with all Christians - There will be no marriage in the new creation, since it’s certain, in singleness, I can live according to it now - Singleness ≠ loneliness - JESUS WAS SINGLE

This is really good.. But you guys need to be honest about how there are 4x as many women as men in churches. Particularly among younger people under 40. I've gone to churches for ages and it has been like that. Many women want to marry but no man ever even speaks to them -- even if you don't have high standards (like you just want someone to takes a shower works, and maybe can grunt a hello). You can go out of your way as a woman to be friendly, talk to people, try to form friendships, and volunteer your butt off and no one will ask you out because its a numbers game. Men have a massive advantage. The church (as a whole) does not address this. Many singles do desire marriage, and the church should be the institution that fosters people meeting -yet it doesn't. Really. Also the church as a whole does make singles feel "less than". Even if they don't intend that. Many singles are sidelined. The crazy part is 60% of Americans are single and the number is growing, and it isn't always because people eschew marriage, particularly among women. What if no guys come up that you can give a chance to? I think maybe this something that the church really should address, haven't honestly met someone who actually "likes" being single in the long run. Very rarely you could say its their "calling." But by using the "calling" language it makes it seem as if it is the person's fault for not being "coupled up." Many times it is not (like I said it is a demographics game). Very few Christian men
@beeem13264 жыл бұрын
There might be few Christian men, but women don’t need to date in the church or only marry a Christian man. We are not condemned for marrying an unbeliever and are not being sinful for having the intimate relationship with them. Paul expresses in 1 Corinthians if you are married to an unbeliever, do not divorce them. This is because your own faith sets the standard for your partner when you are the believer & they are not. Does that mean you should enter a relationship with an unbeliever to save them? No. But if you find someone you really like, who likes you, who respects you, who is open to learning new things & building a life with you, what stops you from pursuing a long-term relationship? Women don’t need to only find husbands in church, & men aren’t required to be Christian for women to marry. Anybody who is chosen by Christ should just focus on their own firm belief system & be able to explain themselves when the other is willing to listen. Marriage is about love & biblical agreements. Love can come from an unbeliever & we can’t limit the dating pool to only church.

@@beeem1326 Nope Paul says not to marry an unbeliever, that is sooooo clear in the bible. If you're already married and gets saved it's cool, and that's when your faith set the standard, but if you're not married then you should marry a Christian because one of the reasons for marriage is to raised Godly children, and it's the man's role to teach children/lead the family (which he cant to in a godly way if he is not saved). Also, a study of the ways in which God set up marriages makes clear that it is illogical to marry an unbeliever.

Pastor Hinn, you have an almost-trained talent for interviewing. Im pleasantly surprised at your scope of gifts. I’m learning a lot and am grateful for your unselfish application of these gifts for the body of Christ. I am much older than you. I only wish I had trusted in Christ much sooner, as you have. The freedom in Christ makes for a much softer pillow. As life goes into older age, I realize that sexual sins have lifelong impact. It’s not fun. It’s not frivolous. The Bible warns us about sexual sins for our own good. I pray young people (and maybe some old ones!) can wake up to this truth. God continue to bless you. Thank you.

Owen and Gavin - here is a quote from a book by the distinguished evangelical Rev. John Stott. I have always respected his views on homosexuality as he lived a chaste life himself so when he is telling you to live a celibate life it's not like someone who is married with three children telling you that when they haven't a clue what you are going through. From 'Issues Facing Christians Today', 3rd edition, p 384 - "in every discussion about homosexuality we must be rigorous in differentiating between this 'being' and 'doing', that is, between a person's identity and activity, sexual preference and sexual practice, constitution and conduct." Owen and Gavin, you are conflating the two. Not only does a homosexual need to avoid all sexual activity, but her also has to somehow miraculously switch off his homosexual orientation and become either heterosexual or asexual. That is setting the bar at s simply impossible level.

We do have new, regenerate hearts that are now able to please God. But at the same time, the old, sinful man remains, and our entire life is spent putting that wretch to death. Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! In another sermon Reverend Gavin Peacock asserts that LGBT people who have not repented represent a full frontal assault on the first couple of chapters of the Book of Genesis i.e. they sin against the fundamental order of God's Creation. But so do couples using contraception. Genesis 1:29 starts (New Jerusalem Bible): 'God blessed them, saying to them, "Be fruitful, multiply...…." ' This is a command which is never rescinded in Scripture - children are always a blessing and barrenness / infertility a curse. There are nbo couples using contraception in the BIble. Yet in Protestant churches we are OK with it now. it used to be seen as a grave sin but not now. We have re-interpreted the teaching on this in the Bible as it now doesn't suit couples to have six children or whatever. There seems to be real picking and choosing of verses in the Bible here and it is very disappointing.

It's great that these discussions are taking place. However I find the content and arguments very disappointing. I used to love watching Gavin Peacock play football - I am Scottish and just regret that he couldn't have signed for Glasgow Rangers! But I am shocked at his views here which are frankly judgmental and legalistic. So let me get this right - a man who has only ever known sexual attraction to other men (an orientation that is probably 20 to 40% genetic and epigenetic) who never kisses or touches another man and so never acts on these attractions, and lives a celibate life, no matter who miserable, lonely, despairing, frustrated and isolated he feels - he is still cannot be a Christian as he remains homosexual? I thought God was gracious, not someone who sets impossible standards. This teaching is totally wrong. The homosexual orientation is not in any way chosen and once settled in adulthood, it does not change. It is ludicrous to require a believer to become heterosexual in some kind of way to be accepted in the Christian community. So harsh and disappointing what these authors say here.

DECODE : 29 Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God. 30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven. 31 But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying, 32 I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living. Again : But he said unto them, All men cannot receive this saying, save they to whom it is given. For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother's womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it. Think Mirrored : Let Us take a look at This Parable again ...In Reverse He is able to receive it , Let him receive it... Jesus spoke these animatic words over 30 times " He that has ears to hear , let him hear " HEAR WHAT "? Now, Spiritual understanding is required ? Therefore we must travel back to the beginning where these profound words we're first allocated. St.Matt Chapter 13 : 13 The same day went Jesus out of the house, and sat by the sea side. 2 And great multitudes were gathered together unto him, so that he went into a ship, and sat; and the whole multitude stood on the shore. 3 And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow; 4 And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up: 5 Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth: 6 And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away. 7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them: 8 But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold. 9 Who hath ears to hear, let him hear. " let him hear what " ? that the seed makes a good bird food ? No that is not it ? "then hear what ? that the sower was Misdirected in he's aim,was a bad shot ? NO , That is not It ? THEN HEAR WHAT ? now we must ascertain the facts what a parable is it and what it's used for ! we have heard that a parable is a little physical story with a big spiritual meaning ? that is indeed , INCORRECT. that is an allegory . Let us look now through a continuing of this chapter and find out exact what categorizes a parable . And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables? 11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. 12 For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath. 13 Therefore speak I to them ( in parables ): because they seeing ( see not; ) and hearing( they hear not,) ((( neither do they understand.))) 14 ( And in them ) is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive: 15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed;((( lest ))) at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted,((_ and I should heal them ))) But,BLESSED ARE YOUR EYES !!! But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear. 17 For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them. with all we have just discovered that this secret encrypted language used by learning prophets and wise men( to conceal )a matter and not to expose it but to those that are chosen. and with a parable ((( spoke He not )))unto the people but later privately, discuss with us apostles. within this framework of a parable , we have determined that there were certain men unobtainable to God's righteousness and what kept out its disclosures . what you wanred by st. Jude ((( evil men ))) The synoptic gospels Matthew Mark and Luke as they're called St John was written more geologically then the first three the word synoptic is derived from two phrases syn an optic which. Syn means ( To Sync ( and Optic ) to see with OR ( To see together these stories are to be seen together and comparison one with another and in that there is a little bit of information more than the other two and there we have it let's take the passages from Mark and Luke in comparison that we might dig out the information and review it. nd said unto them in his doctrine, 3Hearken; Behold, there went out a sower to sow: 4And it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up. 5And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth: 6But when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away. 7And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit. 8And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and some an hundred. 9And he said unto them, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. And when much people were gathered together, and were come to him out of every city, he spake by a parable: 5 A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it. 6 And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture. 7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it. 8 And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. 9 And his disciples asked him, saying, What might this parable be? 10 And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand. 11 Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. 13 They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away. 14 And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection. 15 But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience. 16 No man, when he hath lighted a candle, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth it under a bed; but setteth it on a candlestick, that they which enter in may see the light. 17 For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad. 18 Take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have we see the words heard , Hear and Hear was about the Believers? And , and now back to the previous Topic at hand. (((eunuchs ))) ! However if that is so, it makes my temptations in life much harder to deal with as I don't see Jesus have wrestled with the same issues. I thought that Jesus was tempted in every way we are yet he did not sin? The view expressed here is surprising and a bit disheartening to me.
@BrandonCorley1093 жыл бұрын
Maybe I could help. Regardless of whether Jesus was able to sin or not (peccability vs impeccability), both sides agree that temptation is not itself sin. Therefore, Jesus truly endured temptation regardless of whether he was able to sin or not. Personally, I think that it's best to see Jesus as an impeccable person possessing a peccable human nature. This would be similar to how Jesus (a Divine person) is omnipresent in his divine nature but limited by his body & soul in his human nature. It's mysterious for sure and other theologians would disagree with me and say that peccability & impeccability should only be predicated of a person and not a nature. Regardless, Jesus still truly endured temptation whether he was able to give in to it or not.

As what Jesus says in John 5:39&40 You study the Scriptures, because you think that in them you will find eternal life. And these very Scriptures speak about me! 40 Yet you are not willing to come to me in order to have life. Verse 40 is the most important one. What is lacking in Church’s is the Discipline. Hello. I am not American and am no expert on the USA. But it occurs to me that, in some ways, the United States has moved towards Biblical truth in recent generations. After all two hundred years ago, black people were slaves and just sixty years ago, they could not vote. Granting freedom and civil rights to these communities is surely following the Bible. One hundred and fifty years ago, wives were recognised as pieces of property belonging to their husbands and they had almost no rights. When I was born fifty years ago, fathers were simply breadwinners and child rearing was left 99% to mothers; now fathers play a far bigger role. It's not allgoing to hell in a handcart - some history has brought us closer to the Bible. Prior to social welfare no one looked out for the poor, orphans widows etc but they are looked after better now. In terms of homosexuality how far back do you want to turn the clock? I live in the UK and in my country prior to 1 January 1981 any homosexual act - even between two men in their 30s and 40s - was a criminal offence - people were blackmailed and their careers were ruined and many committed suicide. I get that you want to abolish same sex marriage but would you not allow civil unions either? Would you like to go all the way back to capital punishment. In my country lesbian sex was never illegal but male homosexual sex attracted the death penalty- only reduced to life imprisonment as recently as 1889. Thanks for reading this.
