My husband fought showers until I got a pair of swim goggles. He still would rather not shower but there isn’t a fight anymore.

I'm a caregiver for my mother in love she has an ulcer related to circulation issues. She refuses wound care and take the dressing off, also she takes off compression bandages. MD just say I need to figure how to keep the bandages and dressing on place for a whole week. I only imagine that she feel so uncomfortable that she does not want the dressing or bandages but, she needs that un order to heal. I feel really lost in this matter.

I have a question. My mom has not been formally diagnosed with dementia but she IS documented as "confused and disoriented" though that all really comes and goes. She's 90. She is home and I am her sole caregiver and in the last two weeks or so, right after I've left her room having changed her and prepared her for the night or the next few hours.... she's all set... she rings the bell for me to come back to her room. Why? Not because she needs something.... no. It's because "You need to see how many birds are out there." or "You need to see the moon." or "Look at all the trails the planes leave in the sky." You need to see this.... You need to see that.... REALLY???? This has GOT to be part of a dementia/Alzheimer's thing, right? I don't understand...

Hi, @freeatlast8282, I'm sorry it took me so long to respond. What you are describing does seem to be consistent with brain changes that might be caused by dementia, but it could be something else as well. It also sounds like your mom isn't quite ready to settle down at the end of the night and still wants to connect with you. That can be very frustrating, I know. I'm wondering if you might want to talk to a member of our team to see what solutions we could discover together. Please contact us at consult@teepasnow.com or call 1-877-877-1671 for a free 30-minute session.
