I know I say this each time, but your podcast is so gentle and loving. Thank you for sharing this craft with us! I love the sweaters you both are wearing, and I realized I have yarn I purchased in Paris last April for the Mariechen sweater!! Yours is so pretty, Diana. Kaity, I pray you feel better quickly. That sweater you made for your husband is epic!! Happy birthday, Diana. It sounds like you are blessed with a big, loving family. As for books, I read paper books, on my kindle, and listen! I enjoyed the Agatha Raisin mystery series if you haven't read it. I actually listened to that one.

Go through your closet or local thrift store and pick up a cotton sweater or boys dress shirt, cut the sleeves off and stuff them with the rest of the top. You now have 2 sleeve tailors hams to put in your sleeves or to iron menswear shirts!

Hi Ladies!!! Saved your podcast for today for when the house is quiet. I haven't been feeling well, and TV talk just hurts my brain. But listening to you all is very soothing. Having a special cup of tea to savor with you. ❤xo

Diana! Your cardigan is beautiful!! That color is so delicate and spring-like and I just love it! I used to EXCLUSIVELY read physical books. I couldn’t stand reading ebooks or listening to the majority of audiobooks. I wanted the actual, physical book to hold and smell and see. Then I had a baby…… These days the majority of my reading happens while nursing my little boy (he loves nursing and even though he’s 18 months, he doesn’t show any inclination to stop any time soon. I’m not sure what we’re going to do if my milk supply changes with this pregnancy!) and it is just so much easier to read on a kindle. It took me quite a while to come to terms with the fact that this is just a season and I’d rather read ebooks than not read at all. But someday I’m hoping to get back to reading more physical books! 😊 It was lovely to catch up with you both!! ❤❤

Hi Ladies, I was so excited to hear your doing the Winters Beach Cardi, I just cast it on last night. I have admired this pattern for a while. I happen to come across a version by Camay who goes by Purlifcknitter. Her work is beautiful. This is my first bottom up and also first cables for me😳and now I can watch your progress and be inspired…I’m using gorgeous Madelinetosh yarn… Wish me luck… Congrats and best wishes on your new addition💕

When I knit 3 strands together I put the cakes in 3 separate bowls. The yarn rolls around nicely. If they tend to twist up on themselves I will separate the bowl a bit. One to the left one center and one to the right.

hello girls! just thought I would tell you what I do in the bedrooms to hang my handcrafted blankets. I purchase a nice pretty rod with pretty hardware and attach on the wall, one is even behind the bedroom entry door but shows when the door is shut. Such a beautiful way to display them without a quilt stand. First time I watched your podcast and I had to subscribe.

Always love your knits. I just finished my Sunset Highway. Was a thrill when you showed yours! Isn't it just the perfect pattern for speckled yarn. Wish there were more patterns designed specifically for speckled yarn. I modified mine by moving the colourwork on the sleeves to the cuff.

Thank you for such a lovely podcast. Diana, I have had the Marie Chen in my queue for ages. After seeing yours I want to cast on right this minute! It's gorgeous!! When knitting with yarns held together, I like to put each ball/cake in a separate plastic sandwich bag. I zip the bags until only about a 1/2 inch remains open and this is where I pull the yarn from. For some reason, keeping all the strands separated like this keeps them from tangling and helps to keep things tidy in my knitting bag.

I love your sweater Diana. I looks so good on you. I like to read both hardcover and ebooks, not so much audiobooks. For audio, I’m usually listening to podcasts. My daughter is maintaining a sour dough starter she calls “Doughlores”. Not sure what she calls the discard. Thanks ladies for a great podcast.

Enjoyed your podcast! Both of your finished objects are beautiful. I just got into the soudough baking. It took me about 3 weeks to make a starter that I could use and I made my first bread. It wasn't perfect but still pretty good. I also have to figure out the rhythm. I did spend a lot of time reading so many blogs and how to do it but still have to work on a schedule that fits into my day.

Such a good tip, Kaity, about knitting a man’s sweater. My husband would be the same! I had a similar experience when I knit a Soldotna in Peace Fleece. The mohair in that yarn combined with the colourwork makes it way too warm for a short sleeved sweater.

Trust your own judgement 3 strands of the jagerspun will be fine. Start a gauge swatch not as much for gauge as for is it do able or irritating. Try putting each ball in a ziplock bag and then keep them all close together in your project bag. If they are twisting keep one ball to your right one to your left and one on the floor in front of you. I do this with 3 color colorwork.

I made the Metropolis using 2 strands of fingering and 2 strands of mohair. I did cake the mohair together but not the fingering. That meant 3 strands but it was okay. You’ll do fine 😊

Kaity, I would love to see more projects that you have knit earlier while you arent feeling well enough to knit much. I loved seeing your husband's sweater and hear you talk about it. Thanks for another lovely podcast. xx

I got a tube from the hardware store from the plumbing section. Lord help me with what it's called but it's LIKE a flexible material, not sure if you could call it a soft Styrofoam, tiny noodle, I don't think mine is hollowed though. It's long. So when blocking I slip it in the sweater on the edges or anything creased and block it that way. I put the block pins, if I need to use them, on the other side of it from the part it's keeping from creasing. Mine is long enough so I can half it slip it into the neckline out the sleeves (only the outer edges matter to me) then turn it up into the body up to the armpits. Or vice versa. You could use it on the round throw too. The tubbing is pretty cheap. But you can find anything like that to use.

A lovely podcast as always. I have heard that it isn’t a good idea to wind the yarns together into one ball. They sometimes come off the one ball unevenly and then you are constantly trying to even them out. Best to research.
