Ep 27: 1313 Dead End Drive Board Game Review (Parker Brothers 2002) + How To Play

How to play 1313 Dead End Drive by Parker Brothers.
Correction: The first character should have 4 bags of money and the second 2 bags, then the others 1.
1313 Dead End Drive is a bluffing game where you should try to conceal your identity, as well as trying to reveal the others. On your turn you are moving two of the characters on the board (could be yours and/or the others). Movement is decided by dice (you chose which dice you use for each character you chooses to move).
The game is won when either everyone is out of the mansion or when the last card (Clock Strikes Midnight) is drawn from the deck. You win by having the most moneybags (of the 20 available) of any of the players.
You are always trying to "knock off" the other heirs because as they are gone, their moneybags move down the will to the next heir in line. The board is a 3D house with several traps, which you use to get rid of the other heirs.
You can bluff by moving your opponents' characters towards the entrance or moving your own character onto the trap spaces, but without releasing it.

Minute 4:11, the money moves in the wrong direction!, you need watch the arrows. And the first charcater should have 4 bags of money and the second 2 bags, then the others 1.

Once you get a character to a trap space, can you keep moving them on that same trap space over and over to draw cards? Seems like a fatal flaw to me.

So do you prefer the original version or this sequel? It seemed to me you preferred the original based off of your reviews on both games. I really like how clean and colorful the floor looks on this sequel one and the character pieces look more shapely but it seemed like you preferred the traps on the original version. Plus which one is easier and faster to setup?

@@BoardGameMuseumer Sweet thx for the timely response any other games like this off of the top of your head that you can reccomend that are among your favorites with the family? I love games like this to play and build memories with my kids but they don't really make fun board games like they used too so it's tough to find gems like these, nowadays either the games are full of cards and strategies and take forever to play and lose the child's attention. We love games where you can roll the dice move your spaces watch out for traps or challenges and try to be the first one to complete the board and win the game but when you go to Target or Walmart there's hardly anything like that anymore even Toys R Us was becoming limited. Among our favorites that we have are Ghost Castle, The Enchanted Forest, Labyrinth, Sorry, The Magic Labyrinth, The Enchanted Tower. If you can help find more awesome games like this that would be great!

I used to have this board game but never played it because i was a single child and used it as a "doll house" lmao. One time around xmas i threw the piggy bank at the xmas tree and look around for it and never found it again :c not even when we took down the xmas tree 😔

There are cards out so you can bluff your opponent into thinking they are your cards, a player could even off an unused character thinking that it's their opponent's piece.
