90’s grunge fan here- I knew of GW back in the day (Rock Me/Save Your Love/OBTS) but last year I heard “House of Broken Love” and they became my new favorite band in 2023! Bought all their albums.

Dude House of Broken Love is fricken amazing!! The guitars 🎸 are incredible and the vocals and feeling through the entire song is out of this world. Such an underrated band

The 1 minute and 30-ish seconds of guitar solo to start the song I love so much!

1st big concert I ever went to was Night Rangers 7 wishes tour in Ft Smith, Arkansas at Harper Stadium. Great White was opening band. I was in 5th grade. It was awesome!

I talked to Jack Russell backstage at "The Stage" in Maryville, TN. I barged in at a backstage door and asked if he was available to talk. He talked to me at length about dealing with 😅problems with my son's addiction and how much I respected his contribution to REAL rock vocals. He was so humble! He even asked me as a bartender hottie walked pass us if I wanted a cocktail!

I am so devastated. GW is one of the greatest, and a band I've listened to since 84, 85??? I don't even remember. But I met Jack after a show in Denver, like 92, 93, and it will be a memory I will never forget. He is one of the good ones and taken too soon. I pray your demons are at rest finally so you can rest in peace. ❤ you Jack. RIP 😢😢😢😢

The comment the longer songs they wrote - were not typical 80s ballads - is exactly right. They were not really ballads at all. A song like Old Rose Motel is more similar in its construct to Since I've Been Loving You than something like Carrie by Europe.

I saw Jack perform in Austin about ten years ago. He did not look good then. He limped and was frail / very skinny. He passed away from Lewey Body Dementia.

Jack was a great singer and the band was great. I go way back to dante fox. I liked the music but Jack well not a favorite. I went to school and was friends with Lorne before he joined. Jack didn't even send a card to his funeral and said some things that weren't right. Lorne wrote and arranged more than people know. He was a great guitarist and never got credit. You mentioned jack robbing a drug dealer he also shot the maid in the process. Maybe he changed later in life and treated people differently than he did earlier in life.
