Love your story and love your journey. I'm just back from a 7 day, 2000 km motorbike trip in Morocco which was my first time in Africa and first time long distance touring by motorbike. I think I'm hooked.

Fabulous stuff! You seem to let issues that would worry most of us, wash off you like water off a ducks back!.....don't know how you do it. Your VStrom is certainly holding up well in those conditions, although I'm sure its air filter will need a few handfuls of sand sucked out of it when you get it home!! Hope that tyre stays on the rim and you manage to stock up with more Moroccan tea soon. I look forward to your next upload. Ride safe down there and take care.

The secret of overcoming difficulties ir just to remain positive. The wheel is okay, and I'm going to swap-out the air filter just before I leave Morocco or when I get to Spain. Thanks David.

Smart👍 move Ian, 😢to stop the tire-fitter from further hammering the alloy wheel 🛞as it can very easily crack!...and retrofitting with an automobile tube. It would have been a major pain to try to locate another similar alloy wheel.

When packing for the trip there has to be a compromise with how much kit you can take. As it was I initially packed inner tubes, but decided to leave them to save space for other things - as the tyres I have are tough plus I had filled them with anti-puncture goo AND I also had a puncture outfit and a compressor. I did not foresee a bent rim, though. But, It all worked out good in the end and I'm back to tubeless again.

Greetings Ian from Northern Argentina, on the road down to Ushuaia. Just lucked upon your channel as I hope to be doing the same trip in reverse late this year. I know what you mean about desert roads. I rode all the way down the Peruvian coast into Northern Chile - how far is that, 1500km(?), with nothing but desert. And that desert extends North into Ecuador & further South into who knows how far in Chile. I know what you mean about the tea! I ran out of the good stuff at one point & had to resort to some kind of flavourless coloured water job. You could see the bottom of the cup after brewing for 5 minutes. Not good. One question for you. How do you pick your bike up after a tumble? I'm riding a KLR 650, & when I dump it, I basically have to wait for someone to show up to help me lift it. I'm 68 now & obviously not as strong as I was a few years ago. A shot to my vanity that's for sure. Anyway, good luck mate. Subscribed and will be watching all your videos in the coming months. Good luck amigo!

Hi Norman. Greetings to you, too. South America is hopefully on my todo list for 2027. So envious. When I drop the bike I immediately remove the luggage and top box - which only takes a few minutes. Then with my back to the bike I crouch down (almost sitting down) and with one hand on the handlebar and the other on the rear rack or grabrail, I then start using my legs to push and start to lift the bike. You have more strengh in your legs so you almost walk the bike upright. theres youtube video's about this. I do find though that with the size of the bike and my age, i have one shot at doing this for each fall. If I cant get it up first attempt then I have to regain my strengh or wait for a passer-by.

Yes, I know how to lift it, at least in theory. The problem is, my grip just slips off. It's more annoying than anything else. It seems like only yesterday I was picking it up & throwing it all over the place.@@onemanonebike8514

такое колесо можно выпрямить в дороге - просто нужно нагревать место которое выпрямляешь, и когда будет возможность замените колесо - выпрямленное колесо становится менее крепким.

I really dont see any great advancements from independence in most of these countries - it seems to be back to the good dold days of abuse of power in any way possible - Morocco 20 years ago was a different country its a bit sad to see how it turned out (edited as I was rambling a bit)- great vids tho

To be honest mate, Morocco is great. There is a police presence, but its very subtle. Unlike Senegal and Gambia where the police presence almost seems oppressive. But, I'm here to enjoy myself and broaden my horizons so I dont think too much about the political side of things.
