@@visa2explore Harish ji, Mr Radhanath Sikdar is a character lost in the depths of memories. He used trigonometry to precise the measurements of peak XV ,which was previously the tallest mountain in the world, by using datas of six observation of the peak in 1852. He was the head of mathematics department of the great trigonmetrical survey of India and worked under the guidance of Mr Andrew Scott, the Surveyor general of India. This peak ( XV) was renamed mount Everest in honour of Sir George Everest, who was the mentor of Mr Scott. Mr Scott did not give credit to Mr Sikdar for his remarkable work and instead propose renaming the peak after his mentor's name.

Harish ji, you have made this video in such a wonderful fashion that I am planning to visit the place whenever I get a chance next year. In most other videos that I have seen, it gives a feeling that Darjeeling is a very crowded place during peak season and better to avoid, but after watching your video and the places you mentioned is worth visiting even though there could be a huge rush. Sir,, Barfi and Main Hoon Na was shot in St Pauls Darjeeling, which is in the upper part of the town.. although they look similar from the front facade, St pauls and St Josephs North point are different schools... just for reference, the movie Yaarian was shot in St Josephs

Harishji, I am making comment after a long time, though I and my wife don't miss a single episode of your both channels. As a resident of West Bengal, we are loving your Darjeeling tour. I want to make two points for this episode. You missed to tell the audience, that the railed enclosure in the open space before HMI is the place where Tenzing Norgay was cremeted. You only read the Norgay's qoute at this place about the better condition of his family afler the climb of Mt. Everest . The second point is that you showed the stutue of Radhanath Sikdar. He was an Indian mathematician who is best known for calculating the height of Mount Everest. He was the first person to calculate the height of Mount Everest, in 1852. Mention of these matters could have been more beneficial and informative for the viewers.
