And fantastic job on your videos - I know how much extra time it takes to document everything on camera, after which a fair share of time goed into the editing. Time you could have used on the boat instead. Appreciate you bring us along for the journey

Thank you for this and very much appreciated. The videos do take a while, in the early days it was literally a couple of hours of effort for a couple of minutes of minutes of video. it is getting easier to do and with that has come more enjoyment - I also have a properly good record of the whole experience.

Looks great! Makes me want to put synthetic teak down on my decks. Before you placed the synthetic teak panels in the cockpit, were you sanding directly on the gelcoat? Or were you sanding off old non-skid/grit?

It was mostly getting rid of the old non skid but also getting just the whole thing abraded to the right degree

Thanks for your videos, very helpful. My brother and I are doing up a 72 contessa. Is there any chance we could borrow your templates or could you let us know the name of the manufacturer if they still have the measurements?

Hi, I am really pleased that they are useful to you and we wish you well with your restoration. Certainly happy to help if we can. One truism to consider is that "Contessa 32s are all the same except where they are different. James at Yachting Sports will have some of these things (water tank, synthetic teak desk etc).

Does the synthetic teak really look as good in person as in the video? How does it feel to the touch? I could be enticed to use something like that on my Sea Sprite 30!

It looks great and you would have to inspect really closely to know it was synthetic - will report back at the end of the summer to see how it wears

Hi Riggs, it is a pvc synthetic teak from Mcpmarine in Chichester - if you search for “beautiful marine floors” you should find them easy enough
