We do a little bit of everything in this video and finally get the Hemi 331 freed up, but it doesn't turn out the way we had planned.

You need to build a motor running trailer , the front half of a C10 or a F100 frame , gives you a radiator mounting place that can stay on the trailer , you can cobble together motor mounts for whatever engine you need . Just pinch the frame together behind the engine add a tongue , you can use it to move engines with ease

We had a great Easter with all 17 of our immediate family together for fun and a fantastic dinner. Sad to see and hear about the issues with the old 331. But it's really cool that it's gonna to another good home. Kudos to you for doing that. Look forward to see what's next. Be safe and stay well. BTW....that's a super cool little red pickup you got there. I know a guy who owns a '76 F150 long box 2WD with a 390FE 4-barrel, 4-speed, 3.73 9-bolt from a wrecked '68 Mustang. It's been done over inside with a/c but still has the original patina paint job. Great truck, hauls ass and he is not kind to it at all. Have told him numerous times I need to get the 1st call when he decides to sell it.

If the valves were not ate up I would lap them in. Ive had to take a drill and some lapping compound and go to town. Ive used old bearings before. In 1970's When we worked on a cat engine it was required to put back all the good bearings and pistons. Cat stood behind it. But if the customer wanted all new of course we would do that. But it made the bill go up much higher. But with that said we did what we had to do. The most it could cost you was the time. I watched the one you got running. Thats was cool.

I remember a science experiment in elementary school where the teacher put a 4 inch nail into a bottle of coke and put the cap back on tight and 7 days later the nail had disappeared. Slowly but gone. This was 60 years ago. The original coke.

Glad you broke it free. However there is another problem you should be aware of. You may have rings stuck to the pistons. Also if you have any rust still in the cylinders that can cause a broken piston. In my case when the piston broke the loose rod destroyed the block. What I’m saying is if you like this engine don’t risk it. Tear it down completely and hone the cylinders.

I've seen worse heads repaired and useable! Boiled heads, file top valve stems pulled out. Then guides bored out over sized new guides pressed in new valve seats cut wider and hardened seats pressed in!
