Hello plot #9! Very nice to meet your family. This is what gardening is all about. Building, harvesting, sharing, laughing! It’s nice that your first year is producing so much food for you. Wait till next year! xox 🇨🇦

Thank you so much! We did have the most wonderful time together! It was just amazing harvesting than preparing and eating all this lovely food together! My brother even said that he would be tempted to take on an allotment if it wasn’t for the terrible heat they get in the South of France. They would have to water more than once a day in summer and they just can’t during the week with work. I told him he can come back and share ours anytime!!! 😄👍😘💕🌸

Thank you so much Linda! I do love the plant markers, I will have to buy more of them, they are just too cute! I am so happy with finally getting the shed up! I have my eye on a lovely little camping stove and pink kettle for tea on the plot! Having my family on the plot was just wonderful! We all loved it! 😄👍😘💕

Those veggies were phenomenal - it made me want to eat cauliflower and that is very unusual. Very little pest damage as well - brilliant. Your soil must be very good. Absolutely superb. Please let the shed stay upright.❤❤

Thank you so much! Those cauliflower were an amazing surprise! They were also delicious! I still got some in my freezer, we had so much of it! What is even more amazing is that all my plot neighbours told us that no one could grow cauliflowers or brocoli on the allotment site! None of them could believe that on top of growing some, they were also huge! Maybe it was the combination of raised beds and all that rain. The fine netting worked very well at protecting them. I just hope it wasn’t just beginners’ luck! 😄🤞💕🌸

Nanou, I love the radish and carrot. They look proper in your garden. I thought you had a French accent! You have a lovely family. Missing Fluffy. That is the biggest cauliflower I’ve ever seen. 😮
@plotno.9 Жыл бұрын
I am missing Fluffy so much, the house is so empty without him, even if we talk on the phone everyday. He was on the Genesis Course with the Sixteen choir in Oxford when we built the shed, then he kept away from us when we went down with Covid, but he ended up catching in London in the end anyway. He has only just recovered.

Those cauliflowers were such a huge surprise!!! I never thought they would do so well! I made so much cauliflower cheese and soup with it when we were ill and I still got extra to freeze! It must be down to the weather, it wasn’t too hot and it rained often, I think they liked that. I am not sure they will do as well next year if it is too hot, I will have to try and see! 😄👍🌸💕

You said that right about the rats.Just place some pavers or bricks around the shed.Ask how i know they will live under a shed.Looks good and nice to see the family. Have a great day.
@plotno.9 Жыл бұрын
Oh dear, I now have to ask how do you know about rats under a shed? I am terrified of rats. Once we rented a house next to someone who had chickens very close to the houses and it brought a lot of rats in the attics and between the walls. They never came into our house because of our cats but you could hear them between the walls and above our heads and they were all over the garden. It was just awful. I am going to get Grinch to cover the gaps definitely! 😱😘💕🌸
@delphine88313 Жыл бұрын
@@plotno.9 I purchased a shed from Home depot.Well the shed had squares ⬛ built to help( around the bottom of the shed) I guess if it floods . And the water can drain( I'm guessing this is the reason. I need to ask them).The mice/ rats that could squeeze in there started living under the shed. I had to throw powerful rat killer in the hole( don't worry no cat or dog could squeeze in the hole) to kill them.THEN I put paver/ brick to block off the holes and poured thick mulch around the whole shed to cover up the bricks.I haven't had a problem since but I check around the shed regularly because rats are smart.
@plotno.9 Жыл бұрын
Oh dear, I knew it could happened! Grinch assured me there wasn’t enough room for them to live under the shed but now I know for sure there is plenty of room for them, especially mice!!! 😱😱😱. That will be a new very important job on his list! Making sure nothing can get under that shed!!! 😅 Thank you so much for the advice👍😘🌸💕
@delphine88313 Жыл бұрын
@@plotno.9 You are welcome. The parents PROBABLY can't get under there( depending on their size) but babies can.They have very small Skelton frames so they can squeeze through the smallest places.
