Nothing but quality, crew having fun amongst the paradise of the south western Caribbean in a region of Panama called San Blas. Beautiful pristine beaches and islands literally in the middle of nowhere. Sometimes the girls are in bikinis, sometimes we are sailing, sometimes we spearfish and have beach barbecues. Basically fun in the sun. Did I mention crystal clear waters, coral and deserted islands? How beautiful is that Wharram catamaran.
Just watch the video....can't give it all away.

YESSS! K.I.S.S.... KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID! I'm a Wharram fan. You could "single hand" the pahi if you had to. Maintenance is wood, glue, rope and Sharp blades. Flexing vs Rigid? Flexing any day. Boats should not be rigid on a flexible ocean. Oh and the wing sail?💕 Sadly James Wharram passed away earlier this year but his legacy will live on in his adaptation of ancient polynesian design in a modern era. The Wharram is you dude. I like the Tiki.

This is only the second time I've commented on you channel, to to busy enjoying the content and thumbs up. But yea bud 100% correct, S/S isn't what it used to be, you know 316 s/s should never rust, certainly not in three weeks. You know what all you cruisers are missing? A place of your own to pull your boat out and do work yourselves with a kitted out workshop. I'm not in in the water yet and just started out on YT. {I've been to busy 9-5} In the near future Plukky, I'd be up for chipping in for a place we can all use for ourselves while running it as a business. Food for thought. Great content bro, fair winds.

I fully rerigged my 15 open 15 meters, saved 240 kilos by removing S/S rigging, and replaced it with 30 kilos of Dyneema Rigging. As of interest, My boat is Aluminum rigging turnbuckles that don't rust as they are made in NZ from quality S/S. That Wharram is a delight, clearly by its condition and systems it confirms a big design love affair by the owners. SV Skoiern IV

G'day from down under here in EnZed. FYI Peter, see if you can lay your hands on one of James Wharram early books. Maybe the first?? "Two Girls, Two Catamarans." There's both hard copies and soft cover copies available from Amazon. He talks about designing and sailing his original vessel. It was originally published 1969. Just done my research, and yes it was his first. And there was the series of vlogs by Stewart and Zaya on "Lucky Fish " with an episode almost entirely on relashing their Wharram Cat. That may have been at Easter Island from memory. Again many thanks for sharing your experiences Peter. Until next time, take care.

I was wrong people were telling me at this time Aluminum is the better way as with the modern paints and then add Plastic heated covering over it is best way As the UK under a certain Prim ministers shut down the worlds best Stainless steel that was made only in the UK. It was so good that in the 1950s up to early 1990s was used in top class oil rigs and never rusted or corroded.

plukky / this wharram is you / your style is all over wharram / i love the idea and those Polynesians knew what they were doing with they knew to make things flexible to roll with the punches / like punching your fist in water it surrounds and absorbs the force of the punch / i love this idea outrigger boat / which reminds me of a story / i found a dug out canoe in west coast of mexico and built an outrigger canoe modeled after what i remembered the Polynesian's / i lashed wooden round tree trunks to the boat and made a mast out of a tree trunk and a converted a palm frond matt that i bought into a sail and i remembered hearing about the Polynesians using fifty five gallon empty drums that they tied/lashed to the outriggers / the problem was the 55 gallon drums were too high in the water and the wind was pushing them too as if they were sails and the rudder was an oar that i lashed to the stern but i didn't have enough control of the boat plus on one side of the bay a whale was jumping out of the water and on the other side a huge manta ray was too / and there was only one boat in the bay at the time / i told him if i hang the water bottles from the mast it meant i was in trouble / well to make a long story short i had to be rescued by a Brown Catamaran and towed back out of harms way other wise i would still be out to sea for sure / the wind was coming off the land / oh after that adventure i met a guy who showed me his diving feeds with sharks bite in them too / he was swimming near the mouth of a fresh water river / but i can see you on a Warram

A modified yurt with a lower slope to the roof would be hurricane proof. The forward boom could be lifted higher to make room for the yurt. Also the yurt could cover over one half the hulls, and make hull access from inside the yurt. This would give room for the up galley, and main saloon on the bridge deck. Wharrams are devided like an egg carton, and are more like camping out than a condo. Make the foward mast taller, and lift the same main sail higher for the yurt clearance. If the boat was made of bamboo, and twice the strength of aluminum it would be one fourth the weight of aluminum. Check with the Auzzie Wayne with sailing Mangrove Charlie he found marine boards, and plywood. He put foils on his rudders, and bows.

It's interesting how some people think the Polynesians and other islanders just "tip toed" around the seas whilst the Europeans stomped around plundering everywhere and everything. This fellow obviously missed Cooks journals talking about the islanders massive war canoes . Or the Maori's when they first showed up in NZ 800 or so years ago and started killing the people they found there, effectively colonizing the place and taking it all for themselves

Got a wharram 28 or some odd at the marina. It's gorgeous, see the man playing around on it. He loves his boat. Never seen it leave the slip, but I'd take it for a ride almost anyday. There is another on the hard in the yard still being built production seems to have stalled once they got the hulls together. Too bad it's a big one. In all I love the designs of wharram. Very impressed Matt gave the Polynesians their dues on this one. Btw, James wharram was the og 2 chicks one dude on a green cat sailing across the ocean 😂 pay tribute to the forefathers. Not that you need to have the wierd love triangle thing going on. Good tour Peter! Thanks!

I have already proposed a Wharram for your next boat. Much more simple to build and maintain with your skills. No more hassle with getting hardware sent across the world. Telegraph pole masts. No electrolysis. Tar anti fouling slapped on on a beach at low tide. Repairable on a tropical island. Seems the obvious boat for your type of cruising. Back to basics. Go for it. You may even start a new trend with you knac of story telling.

Plucky, you're a hero, bro!! Taking us aboard that beautiful Wharram Pahi for a tour!! Wharram has a few different hull shapes out there, but the Pahi is my personal favorite. What a beauty. I knew you'd like it. They're simple, rugged, easily maintained, fast, and sea-kindly. What's not to like? The owner's solution to the lifting prop-shafts was a really interesting adaptation of the outboard pods you typically see on Wharrams. Makes sense, and definitely suits the boat. Thanks again for taking us along on this one. Really enjoyed it.
How to avoid capsize? What to look for in catamaran design.
