Nice little bit of info there. The SARCA anchors are the ducks guts, sooo much better than the old Danforth garbage we’ve all used for years. That place looks absolutely beautiful 👍🏻👍🏻🎣🍺🍺🍺🍺🇦🇺

Some great tips there Paul ! I would say your tarps are bin material when you get home - unless you like scrubbing bird crap off them that is 🤣
@TheHookandTheCook2 жыл бұрын
My wife made me wash them ha ha you should have seen them Ian on the last day. I heard in summer it stinks a fair bit as the mutton birds are there then. So only go between April to oct. thanks for watching Ian appreciate your support on the channel 👍👍👍

@@TheHookandTheCook just tie them to your boat overnight laying 'em in the salt water and that will do the job. Hose it down with fresh water next morning after removing it.. Easy peasy

Probably find that the fish will eat the crap off the tarps , I know a lot of bream fishos look for boats that have a lot of birds sitting on them as the poo makes good berley

Definitely (sooner rather than later) remove those two lines you have spliced onto the recovery eye/point on the keel (bow) of your boat. Then splice a couple of stainless steel thimbles onto the ends of those two lines. Then get hold of a shackle (size?) that will fit the recovery eye of the boat, and also the stainless steel thimbles you have spliced into the ends of the line. Alternatively, you could just splice an eye into the ends of the line, put the shackle through the eyes in the line and then shackle that to the recovery eye/point on the boat. It’s not as fail-safe as having stainless thimbles in the line, but better than what you are running in the vid. From my experience, those two line you have attached could part (break) from chaffing in less than 10 minutes (depending on sea/anchor conditions.

Hey Mark sorry for the delayed response mate I have just seen your comment. I totally agree with you I got rid of the spliced lines. Will be taking your advice think about putting a stainless steel clip instead of shackle at the tow point. With the stainless steel eye sliced into the line. Thanks for your comments nothing better than experience Mark 👍👍👍👍

Very informative Paul, thanks 👍 Could you put up some details (name or web link) to the plough anchor that you ended up getting.

Sure the Brand of Anchor is called SARCA its a number 2 the name of the place in Gladstone is Ship & Sail contact 0749727111. I believe the way its set up you can use on the reef and sand. You wont be disappointed. Hope this helps mate make sure you get heavy duty chain twice the length of the boat. Thanks for watching. Regards Paul

No Danielle very lucky she didn’t get burnt mate. It was definitely a adventure we won’t forget. Had a few sleepless nights when the big northerly blew. Love to go back at Easter. I loved every minute. How’s the fishing going Gary? I am getting over a hernia operation which has slowed me down atm👍
