What thickness was the disc you used?
@Ed_in_a_shed4 ай бұрын
@@LordCakeskull if i recall from top of my head it measured at 1.992mm or something like that. And because of the little holder i could clock it dead true or put a few micron swing on the cutter to get it cut a few microns larger

How are you going to dynamically balance now you lightened?.this area is required for balance
@Ed_in_a_shed11 ай бұрын
Yes, so when i actually come todo the 2 proper ones ill be taking less material out/not going quiet as deep that time Round then will give the rotors to place along with rotating assembly to balance the lot

@@Ed_in_a_shed they already lightest rotors made by a kilo..seen results from dynos with extremely lightened rx8 rotors.made zero difference..same gain from a lightweight flywheel.ypu wont have enough material left to remove for balance, balancer will end up taking material out of oil passages to weight match

@@arcrotaryengineering7156 yea knew they already the lightest, but about the dyno aspects that's interesting and new. Mainly doing it for a bit of a machining challenge my self. And was deciding whether to lighten removing material evenly from all corners and get them to point of grams between them and leave it like that snd only rev to 9 to 9.5k as mazda were obviously happy the factory casting balance. But then the thought of corner clearancing and just getting them fully balanced would benefit as ill be able to take it much higher rpms

@@arcrotaryengineering7156 i will likely just take a tiny bit out and then go get them lightened for the fact it wont cost much
