Love this card. My brayer with the ink was a lot more messy even when I taped the brayer. SIGH! Either way a beautiful idea. Thanks!

Oh no! That definitely happens. It depends a lot on how freshly inked the pad is at the time.

Please explain this to me as if I'm a 5 year old lol. I have the old SU big shot & plates. What do I use for the sandwich with both the die & folder together? Besides the plates that came with the machine I have the old SU embossing mat set which is a blue & a gray flimsy mat & a white plate. Thank you ever so much!

Happy to help! You want the big pad (does yours have hinges?) with all of the hinges open. Then you’ll want to use the embossing folder/die/cardstock and try adding a cutting mat on top. If it goes through too easily and doesn’t cut, try adding your next thicker mat instead. Or try flipping back one of the hinges. Basically you’ll want to start with something that goes through too easily and then do trial/error with combinations that are a little thicker each time until you get the sandwich that works perfectly. Does that make sense? You’ve likely got the pieces you need - just need to test until they’re right. The final “right” sandwich goes through fairly easily - you’ll know if it’s too thick since it will be really hard to crank

@@MegLoven thank you for replying so quickly! I do have the hinged base plate... I wasn't sure if the die could possibly cut into the embossing folder or the folder is made in such a way for that not to happen. Thanks again!

I'd just start with the thinnest 'sandwich' possible - it should crank through really easily and not cut or emboss much at all. Then just go up a little at a time until you get a cut and emboss from the folder. If you go a little at a time with increasing the thickness, you should be in good shape! Just don't jump ahead in thickness - or try to crank through when it's really really hard. Those could be recipes for not-so-good things for your folder 😆 Worst case scenario if you can't find a good sandwich, you can get the Specialty Plate (154711) from the current catalog and use that with your base plate.
