Hey, i hope you figured it out by now. I pulled the main cable from the Triton2 unit. Put it back in with the usb all ready connected!!! Guess what…..update started automatically 🎉 It’s a fat32 formatted usb stick with standard upd (and the md5 and sha1 extension, don’t know for sure if those are needed, but it worked)

Thanks for the video Jose! I had the same ending. In the Zeus I still see the old firmware versions on de Triton display. What was the response from B&G on this item?

The Triton Displays will not update from the Zeus. You have to load the Firmware on a Fat32 Formated USB stick. Remove the cable from the Triton unit, insert the USB stick on the unit and then reconnect the cable. It should update the Firmware then. Once you update the Firmware on the individual Triton, it should report correctly to the Zeus. HopE this helps!

Thanks for the video. It was helpful but also convinced me not to update my four Triton2 units. I'm not going to disassemble the helm pod and uninstall the other two units. I'll tolerate the messages on the Zeus 3s. It's ridiculous that they don't have this talking to the network. $20k of networked nav gear and with every software update you have to disassemble your boat? Insanity.

I think you can use an SD card if you have a compatible MFD, then it updates the Triton over NMEA2000.

Triton2 FW Ver 2.0-57.3.186 is the latest FW file released May 15 2022

I talked to B&G Tech Support and the informed me that the Triton's can only be updated via USB. At some point, I hope they come up with a better way to do the updates.

B&G made it sound too easy! Should have described that you have to pull the cable and NOT just put the unit to sleep 😅

Thanks for the effort in making the video, but somewhat annoying how many times you scrolled past "about" without checking your firmware version before and after to see if it actually upgraded. Also horrible design that you have to do it this way. My system is connected to wifi. Inexcusable that it cant update over that.

Thank you for watching. I will make sure I add that to the video next time. Unfortunately, the Triton 2 cannot be upgraded via WiFi. Hopefully B&G will address that in future versions.

I do not think you have a valid update. Check the "About" and read the number on the current software version. Compare it to the number on the downloaded version. If the update was carried out correctly they should be identical. There should also be a progress bar showing during the update itself. Same thing happened to me. Have not found a solution yet.

I actually had the correct software, but it id not load. After talking to B&G the only way to update the unit the Triton II is via USB stick in the unit itself

Just learned from Navico Support here in Scandinavia that you need to single out the "standard" .upd file from the Updaters folder and load it on your USB stick root directory. It worked for me.

@@HomesBoatsTravelbyJoseTorres Did you fix the update problem? I'm running into the same thing. It sees the .upd file, it reboots, sometimes short beep, sometimes long beep, but after that the unit isn't updated. This is via a USB stick..
