Fair play to Gabrielle though 👏. She has been exceptional on her return again to season 5. Once again she demonstrated that saying follow-up words like longer, and shorter can make all the difference! Excellent job from zero to hero.

So today is the first time I saw the other word options. Passing on Martha’s Vineyard makes sense. I do think we would have gotten Closing Argument though. Maybe “Trial End Statement” with “Lawyer” as a push word. Ah well. Time for some others to win some prizes!

Agreed. I find it so frustrating! She's a very good player teamed with two excellent champs - and they were 750 points ahead!! Sometimes it makes me wonder what the celebrities are thinking. Are they really that clueless (no pun intended)? I can't believe she didn't choose 'closing argument - that seemed so easy. She would have had more than 10 words to describe it! There's no reason for her not to have chosen it. (Unless there's pressure from the producers, but I hope that's not the case.)

Cheri is a very competent player but doesn't approach the game very competitively or strategically. There are no stakes for her so it's just a game show she signed up to do.

I would have passed too after seeing lifesaver, that would just be too much thinking power for me 😂. Michael made the right play. Curious to see what you guys would say for 10 clues. We do not have that lifesaver candy over here. It was new to me.

Little bit more faster with the money round clues. She gave valid clues for curse, and did well in trying to get around that by linking it to spells. They should have gotten that realistically. I do not know what else could have been said 🤷🏻‍♂️.

"Bad words" brings up "cuss," "swear," "foul language," etc. To get them to say "curse," she had to annotate it being an action word or a verb. I guess "curse" is also an adjective but it sounds like she wanted a synonym for "bad words" and "curse" is not one.

Okay, so if you want them to say "medium," you can say "small..." to get them to say "medium, large." Or you can say "small..." and they'll say "big, tall, huge." Or you can say "synonym, small" and they'll say "tiny." Sometimes it's necessary.

@@johnsmi213 It's never necessary. Otherwise, every single entry in Webster's dictionary would begin with "synonym...". If you get a clue of "small" and you respond "big tall huge" then you shouldn't be on the show. The word "small" does not mean any of those, unless you say it with the correct tone in your voice to indicate what you want.

Soooo bummed that Michael and Renee lost. They didn't even lose to a superior team. She used way too many words in the money round...25 words use to get six answers. Quite frankly, their guess of REAL A TOR should not have been accepted as the word is pronounced REAL TOR, and this is a show about word sounds. She added an 'a' to the word. Its a two syllable word. She made it a three syllable word. Really too bad. Michael and Renee should get to come back because of that.
