it is weird that he went from making comments like "they're rabbits! leave them alone long enough, they'll multiply by themselves" to being a walking brick of a person. surely he would've gotten smarter as he grew up? i like the idea of it being intentional so that if he ever slipped up and revealed magic everyone would just dismiss him because he's always saying weird shit. he made one or two comments like "oh look, another strange comment from max!" in later seasons that always makes me think there's more going on with him. he managed to avoid exposing magic in that interrogation cycle with the kids at the end of season 3 by just talking nonsense, so it's clearly a good strategy

Max in Season 1: “If you’re completely underwater...you’re not really wet.” And for anyone curious, yes a lot of this he’s absolutely doing intentionally. It’s not even a theory, he straight up mentions it on multiple occasions. “I tried, but it was really hard to intentionally misread the situation.” “I confuse people to get them to say what their thinking.” “I act dumb so if I ever expose us, they figure eh, the kid’s an idiot and move on.” He also got more lines in the later seasons since he was older, so his character was more clearly defined then, rather than it actually changing.

Wizards of Waverly Place was my favorite show, honestly it even trumped Suite Life of Zack and Cody and I LOVED that show. Alex was such an icon to me because she was cool, easy going and fun. She was a breath of fresh air. She was "not like other girls" but without the pick me aspect and so was Harper. Alex wore this shirt saying "Costume" in one of the episodes, I think it was about Halloween, and I remember getting a shirt and writing "Costume" on it with marker and wearing that for Karneval in Germany. Ooh, I also remember trying to recreate the typical Disney Channel star outfit and going to school with it, you know, all the layering and different colors and patterns, I felt sooo cool. Well, at the end of the school day, I saw my reflection in a window and realized that I looked absolutely ridiculous. That was so embarrassing. 💀

When I was a kid I spent most of my life in Hospital. Especially in the years of 2006-10 so Wizards of Waverley place was and always will be the most important show in my life. It got me through so much bad times. It’s still (along with Friday Night Dinner) my go to comfort show. This podcast is so amazing and it’s definitely bringing back memories. When the reunion happens I think I might explode.

I love all of the characters in WOWP, & that's something I rarely say abt a show- especially a Disney one. All of the characters are so likeable! Jerry Russo has always been my all time fave (Disney) dad, & I honestly couldn't imagine someone other than David DeLuise to play him. Harper Finkle is definitely, like Jennifer said, the friend you'd want to have. She was supportive, but will tell you if you're in the wrong. Nice but not a pushover & ofc fashionable, one of my fave outfits was the purple one with black glasses on it. I definitely feel Jennifer Stone was a big contribution to making Harper a beloved character. I love this podcast so much! Thank you for being part of my childhood. Wizards was my comfort show as a kid & I'm glad that behind the scenes the cast had genuine love for each other. I'm living for Jen & David's friendship, you guys are amazing
