This is another proof that Obasanjo is a really great leader. His was clearly committed to make Nigeria better and he demonstrated that by assembling the best heads and giving them room to operate

I love and respect the two Business Minded Giants!!!!!!!! Ngozi Okonjo Iweala and Dr Comos Maduka... The Minister of Finance was right and negotiating for insurance indemnifies the Government and Coscharis Company as well against the fear of the unknown and loss....at the end it is all; it became a win win for the company and the government even with the insurance company because the government giving a guarantee without a concrete assurance especially on a commodity that they have no real use for is reckless and a responsible government is not run like that. I salute them both!

Kudos to Okonjo Iweala! She did the right thing for Nigeria. The government would have lost untold amounts of money if that original deal had gone through

@@prosperbwealth The original deal that Maduka had with Obasanjo was for Coascharis to bring in the cars (over 100 of them), and then the Nigerian government use them for the games for 3 weeks. After the games, the Nigerian government would then sell the cars and pay Maduka his money. If the Government was unable to sell the cars, they would still have to pay Maduka full price. That is what Ngozi Okonjo Iweala objected to, and rightly so. The Nigerian govt is not a car dealer and would have lost colossus amounts of money on that deal….as government officials would give the cars to their girlfriends or sell it to themselves for 100 Naira. You can argue that that was not Maduka’s problem, and I would agree with you. But from the point of view of the Nigerian government, it was a very risky deal that had a 90% chance of failure.

@@tosin8401can a Yoruba or Hausa man do such a thing as you explained? Lesson; only Igbos have the admin integrity to govern Nigeria successfully reason been that Igbos are extremely detribalized unlike the other two major tribes.
@tosin8401Ай бұрын
@@ekeneokeke8244 😀. Let’s not overly generalize. NOI did great, but that does not mean all Igbo/Yoruba/Hausa would do the same. Also, in my own experience, the most naturally honest people in Nigeria are in the north. Westernized people - such as the Yoruba and Igbo - have a materialism problem…just like the west.

This is what people should understand, less government in people's affairs. Government should not be securing loan that's the risk you take as a firm in a capitalist economy

Dr. Iweala made the right decision not to issue such a guarantee. The government didn't need the car after the games and had offered him free duty as an incentive. Look at the outcome: they hit the streets and did what they do best-sell, sell, sell!
