Are you going to put a clamp to connect the two fuel filters to one another? That long arm of fluid connectors between the header tank and the center of mass of the filters seems like it could have a resonance that might result in a fatigue crack. I’ll look forward to seeing all of those connections completed in part 2 of this episode!

There have already been some slight changes in the fuel system design. All will be covered in Part 2 of the fuel system install. Thanks for watching!

That's a nice header tank.

I like how you mounted a terminal block for the wiring. I just extended them to the front. Nice clean install.

Thanks Joe.

Maybe adding a few more terminals to the terminal strip for the fuel transducer? Another idea is to add a ground bus for all the grounds, then you have plenty of room for the positives on the existing terminal strip.
@AeroworksProductions3 жыл бұрын
@@eggenfellner There are enough for both pumps and the fuel transducer currently. I may add a ground bar later.

Do you know the PSI and GPH of the fuel pumps? What are you going to be looking for on the Dynon?
@AeroworksProductions3 жыл бұрын
40 GPH and 43 PSI

Learning a lot from this series. Hope to order my SD tail kit in a few weeks. A question on your Holly fuel filters. When it comes annual time and you have to remove them for inspection/cleaning, how do you get them out without having the contents of the gas tank come pouring down on you? I'd hate to have to drain the tanks just to clean the filters.

Thanks for watching and great question. The new fuel valve I just installed will be able to shut off the flow and little to no fuel should come out when changing the filter. Good luck on your tail kit. Feel free to reach out if you have questions and make sure you join the Zenith Super Duty Builders group on Facebook. Lots of pictures and help if you need it.

Yet another great post Adam 👏 Enjoying your content very much and learning from it also in the process 👍 Thank you for taking time out to document your work and to share it with the community 🙏 Ps - Vance Simons had some interesting learnings with his fuel system installation post initial hook up, might be worth searching for his post or reaching out to him for some post installation insights 😉 Great work mate, keep it up 😎

Looking sharp! I keep going back in forth whether I want to use a terminal strip at the back? I am quickly running out of room behind the instrument panel 😀. Also, thinking about mounting a ground strip around the access hole? Do you plan to run a ground strip at the back as well?
@AeroworksProductions3 жыл бұрын
Haven’t really thought about that one, I guess we’ll see if it’s needed.

Never put any kind of sealant on AN flare threads, only a hydraulic assembly lubricate to get a good torque reading and to prevent galling the threads. Sealant on the NPT side of the fitting is a must.

As you can see that’s what I did and discussed in the video.

How can your fuel tanks vent by running the vent lines to a full header tank?
@n206ja3 жыл бұрын
As always, I appreciate the great detail in your videos! It would have been nice if all of your lines could have been entirely SS braided PTFE so they would be "permanent," unlike the rubber lines that require periodic replacement, but at least that's only a once every several years cycle, so you won't have to think about it for quite some time! LOL! BTW, for those on a budget, Jeg's sells a billet aluminum 40 micron fuel filter with AN6 fittings that works great for about 1/3 of the price of the Holley. Looks like you got out of the "Hell Hole" unscathed - my poor old bald scalp usually collects at least one scrape each time I "visit" mine in my 750 STOL. :(
@AeroworksProductions3 жыл бұрын
Yeah agree on all counts. I usually scratch my glasses or forehead somewhere getting in and out of there. I wish we could have had all SS lines too but it would have made some of the Honda fittings tricky.

Quick question, what is your firewall fwd weight? Did it end up eating into your useful load?
@AeroworksProductions10 ай бұрын
Haven't got that far yet with weighing but the Viking engine is less than the Titan I was going to put on the front.
