For many of us with GSM, three months treatment with vag estrogen is not nearly enough, especially for us who have had estrogen deficiency for a decade or more!

I am so lucky to have a doctor who put me on estrogen/testosterone cream at 65 …I’m now 76 and still have a fabulous vagina. It took several doctor’s appointments for me to bring up painful intercourse,dryness, itching…he happily explained all of this to me🤗

My fiend from Kamloops had a c- section. The MD did not sew up her uterus after the c- section and just closed up the outer layer of tissue. She came back for infertility treatment and they covered her condition up and just said she was infertile. When she entered menopause she started to have extremely bold periods. She went to a gynecologist and it was revealed to her that her uterus was not sewn up after her c- section so that was the reason for her infertility. Canadians have to wait months for appointments with a doctor. You could wait 6 months to a year for surgery. They do not expect cancer to be treated in a timely manner because of shortages of doctors and healthcare. No way do I want universal healthcare like Canada.

Today is May 7, 2023 and I just found this KZbin and I feel So Validated right now! I have been doing my own 'piece together research' for the past few months and Everything Dr. Rubin has spoken about is Exactly what I 'pieced together' and have going on! I have another appointment with my gynecologist on May 10, 2023 and I am going in armed with All of this information! {including All the links} There is so much more to my story but this is the 'Here and Now' of things and hearing of what I'm seeing by using a mirror and noticing all the changes {yes, even that 'light shade of pink' on the inside} I mean, All of it-is happening to me. Wow, just wow, my mind is blown into confetti. Thank you for providing all of this Very useful information, and in my case, validating what I found which matches what you've said.

@@pelvicfloorproject Update as of February 8, 2024: I took my research and your KZbin information with me to my gynecologist appointment on May 10, 2023 and yes indeed, I have a serious case of Vaginal Atrophy/GSM. My gynecologist 'Dr. Sarah Lambeth' of Chicago, IL not only welcomed all of the information I passed over to her to help her, help me, she said that she and another colleague were a bit familiar with you and that she would further educate herself with your information and at some point soon reach out to you. That day she started me on 'Estradiol Vaginal Cream USP, 0.01% and we're still working on finding a comfortable treatment plan. I wish I had this information 7 years ago when I began feeling the slight "burning sensation" inside my vagina during intercourse which now I know was because the vaginal dryness was beginning. I had a uterine ablation in 2010 {I have had endometriosis since 1989} and I haven't had a period since that procedure. I don't know when I actually began Menopause and my previous doctor never followed up with monitoring my hormone levels nor was I ever put on any HRT plan. I wish I knew Then-what I know Now. 😔

Thank you. I was getting resigned that I have to be celibate the rest of my life and cope with these problems that I never knew about. But KZbin and special people like you are educating older women or even younger women who may have these problems. Thank you

Extremely helpful! This Dr is so incredible ❤❤❤! I also sent this to my 90 year old mum with urinary issues as I’ve been pushing her to get the vaginal 1% creme.

What specific PT techniques do you use, please, for post-menopausal women who suffer from vaginal (internal) burning and UTI-like symptoms despite having used vaginal estrogen for two years? My PPT only does one thing every session-presses on one side of the upper wall and then the other! Is this common among pelvic therapists? This was a great interview-you got more specific info out of Dr. Rubin than I’ve heard her talk about in other podcasts.

Hi, this woman is awesome. What would be the name of the Vaginal DHEA medicine?
@pelvicfloorproject7 ай бұрын
hmm. I don't think she listed a specific one. I am based in canada and Dr. Rubin is based in the US. You could talk to a pharmacist or your doctor for specifics :)

Did anyone have more burning sensation with estradiol vaginal cream? I wonder if it’s part of the initial face of treatment until my body adjust to it.

I also did originally but found out that Estrace has propylene glycol in it which is a vaginal irritant. I'm very sensitive so I get my vaginal estrogen compounded into suppositories that are in Fattibase. This base is very pure and doesn't irritate me at all.
