Where their channel markers across Mobile bay? You guys are awesome!

Thanks for the support, Chris! The channel markers are in the channels, north-south and also east-west, marked by day beacons!

I live north of Port St Joe in the corner of GA. That part of Florida is where I love to take time to travel around. Panama city to Carreabelle is what I call old Florida. Steinhatchie, Cedar Key area is beautiful. Love the way you explained the captains view, Port, and starboard.

We really enjoyed our time in PSJ and would love to go back and stay for a while! I think that is what is so great about doing the Loop, we are getting to see parts of the US that we would never have normally seen on a road trip! Thanks for watching! 🙂

I love the channel and your story, thank you for doing this. I would like to see more about your buddy boats and see if they have a channel also. Maybe interview them if they allow it. I would also like to see what you guys are eating and do a review of the restaurants you go to. When I am ready for my loop, I want to go to the best places to eat as I love food, and good beer. Keep up the great work!
@coolbeansloop20247 ай бұрын
Thanks! We did an interview with our first buddy boat in Ep 4, have you watched that one yet? We do sometimes put our food in the videos, keep watching! We recommend highly these: Perdido Key Oyster House in Perdido Key, Sunbury Crab Co in Sunbury, GA and also Rusty Bellies in Tarpon Springs, FL! Thanks for watching! 🙂

On your "next" loop, take a more leisurely time and stop by the smaller gulf towns, Steinhatchie, Cedar Key, Crystal River, Hudson, Port Richey, all old fishing towns, good food, great bars. This would have delayed you a good week, so plan on next time. Enjoying your posts. Be safe.

That sounds like a great plan, David! Thanks for watching! 🙂

@coolbeansloop20247 ай бұрын
Hi Steve and Mary! Oh wow - we might see you on Texoma some day! Do you ever go to Pelican's Landing? If you are ever there, let us know and we can have a burger and talk about the Loop! We will keep the boat in Kemah but our heart is in North Texas! We will definitely keep the videos coming - we are doing this for our friends and family and anyone who is interested in our journey!!! We appreciate you watching, and GIG 'EM!!!!! 👍

Hey Chris, Jon Andrews here. Great progress on your trip and keeping us updated. On one of your future videos, can you explain why you maintain the slow speed during the crossing? Thanks and be safe!!

Thanks for the question, Jon. We are working on a Q&A video that we will release a week from Wednesday, and will address your question. Thanks for watching!

Hi! Do you use your headlight at night?? That darkness is so scary to me! Good job! (BTW I am watching from Arlington Heights, IL, a suburb of Chicago!)
@coolbeansloop20248 ай бұрын
Hi Jenna! We used flashlights during the crossing and YES it was scary! Luckily we had great buddy boats so if anything were to happen we had help very close! Thanks for watching! 🙂

Enjoying watching your trip, hope to do the same soon! It appears you don't have an autopilot on the boat. Was this a deliberate decision that you felt an autopilot was unneeded? Do you still feel the same after your gulf crossing?
@coolbeansloop20249 ай бұрын
That is a great question! We have gotten several comments on our steering/auto pilot, and we are going to address it in a Q&A in Episode 8! Thanks for watching and keep watching for our answer! 🙂

Are you using any kind of guide book for the ICW? I know that Quimby's has part of the ICW, so where are you getting suggestions & recommendations for stops? (especially anchorages)
@coolbeansloop20249 ай бұрын
Hello! We are using a combination of Navionics, Waterway Guide, and several books on Looping! We try to use as many sources as we can manage, to ensure we have the best info! Thanks for watching! 🙂

Are the crab pots like a trotline or jug lines? What is the average depth for the Gulf Crossing?
@jimyoung17349 ай бұрын
Crab pots are no connected to one another, the lines go to the bottom. There are typically 6-12ish in a line/row that are spaced fairly evenly apart. When we did the same crossing we were in normally around 30 feet of water depending.
