Your no. 1 fan is here once again 😊 with "something small" to say😊 . Thank you bringing forth a very important conversation and discussing it very well. Recently, Janet Mbugua stated in one of her delightful monologues, " The more she found herself, the more people she lost." I relate with that statement as it has personally happened to me. Since I stopped drinking alcohol 4 years ago, I have lost so many people I thought were my friends along the way. Every loss came with pain & grief but also an awakening after accepting things for what they are. This year, a lot has happened but more importantly, what I am learning to boldly ask for these days which I will also deliver on in my friendships are, Active Participation, Availability, Presence, Sacrifice and Contribution. Pour in to me and I will do the sane unto you. As always, May God Bless the work of your hands Judy and Kate. Looking forward to the next ✌🏿

Kate's mum and I are on the same page😅 growing up, my mum taught me to have thick skin in all types of relationships, as much as I will love my friends whole heartedly, I'm also fully aware of how anyone can easily hurt you/ take advantage of your love/kindness.

My perspective since this is a topic I really scrutinize on the daily is do we really understand what friend(s) really are. Society today has changed the ideal meaning of the term friend.Loyalty is the foundation of all friendships and I tend to think that most 'genuine' friendships are deeper to the extent that you get viewed as 'family' hence when the unspoken rules get breached it sinks that boat. And the spectrum is extensive in a sense. 1k subs is a milestone to celebrate. Congratulations 🎉 and we will be here no matter what. 😅

You are so right. Society has changed what friendship means. The unspoken rules really do make sense and exist in true friendships cause you basically become family.

Kate, I think the way we've been taught that women are enemies to each other is a lie. Women have proven again and again that we are the best kind of community to belong to. The lots of talk about female friendship now, is because of this realization. We are shocked that we have believed this lie for so long. It is also true that some female relationships are whack but Kate, really, look at your female friends, not acquaintances, friends. Is there a community more powerful than that in your life? That is why women everywhere are absolutely broken by female friendship breakups. We are the generation that has come to this realization and we are trying to navigate it. Alafu tujue difference ya friends na acquaintances, hii mambo ni very easy ukijua hiyo difference.

I agree! It’s a big ass lie but unfortunately many women are taught that it’s true. Fortunately for me even with my friendships they ended on amicable or understanding terms. I haven’t experienced the competition or jealousy that most women have gone through! That’s also why we say it’s important to have friendships. I hope as women we continue to be more kind to each other.
