This was where we saw you first and googled Talisman and found your channel. We were moored beside the ferry slip in a charter Bavaria. That nice yacht which you joked about asking whether you would be able to moor beside asked us whether they could moor in front of us which we agreed. We saw the next morning that you had a crossed anchor when you were leaving but were able to free it. We saw you again further south in Eufemia. Again we admired your yacht and that you were living our dream. I regret that we were too shy to say hello. What arts of the med have you enjoyed the most and would recommend revisiting? Well done on great videos.

Wow. We so wish you had come by. Fiscardo was our first real taste of how Greece could be once you got off the beaten track a bit. But Fiscardo is designed in such a way, with the curved harbor wall, that it's inevitable that chains will be laid across each other. The next time we stopped there we long-lined on the other side and will continue to do so in the future. Also, if you go back far enough in our series you'll see that we too started off chartering (in the BVI). It's the natural progression. On the Ionian side, I would say Parga, Kioni, Fiscardo, Argisotli, Assos (tight harbor), anywhere on Meganisi, and Preveza. Thanks so much for watching and we hope to see you next season, although we'll be on the Aegean side.

Sweet video guys! Brings back wonderful memories of 2017 when we anchored off the shore opposite the town with a long line to shore. Although we were besieged by a huge flotilla it was overall our favorite spot in the Ionians. Eager to see your next stops... hope they include Meganisi and Paxi.

Hi Drew. We came back to Fiscardo probably 3 or 4 times. I won't do episodes on all the repeat business, but we made the same choice as you on our return. We long-lined on the other side of the harbor and either swam and walked to town, or took the dinghy over if we were dressed for dinner. Wonderful spot.

Good video. Love the detail and tips you provide. Will be cruising that Italy/Greece from June next and then Arc 2019 so these videos are great for planning.

Hi Kevin. We might see you so keep an eye out (or enter us into marinetraffic.com as part of a fleet).Talisman is still in Greece and once our projects are done there we'll be sailing the Aegean islands for the first half of the season, probably stopping for a bit in Turkey and then finishing the eastward travels at Rhodes. From there we'll be headed back to Gibraltar for a month or so, and then down to the Canaries. We'll piggyback on the ARC but will probably not formally join it. Thanks for the kind words.

Beautiful, we sailed into Fiscardo invited friends and family and got married on the beach. A special place ⛵️

Congratulations Adrian! With a send-off like that I'm sure the marriage is going strong. Fiscardo and Kioni are my two favorite Ionian harbors. There are others that are perhaps equally charming, but those two are the ones I recommend first.

@@SVImpavidus You guys rock! We expect our only Spanish stop next year to be Estepona, over near Gibraltar. The sail loft there has two of our sails that they're holding for us that we want to take to the Caribbean. We might do a stop or two in the Balearics, but only if we have extra time.

That was far too short!! I have berthed in exactly the same place - The Captains Table Taverna (you must have arrived about 11 in the morning? I noticed you did not have the end of your passarelle over the jetty - was that as far back as you could squeeze in? 😂😂I was looking forward to seeing you up anchor thats always a great sport in Fiskardo.😀👍⛵️

Hi Norman. Great to hear from you again. You are quite observant. Yes, there were rocks right behind our rudder and to either side and although we were initially a bit further back, we decided to loosen the stern lines and pull forward so as to give a little more room. Also, you are correct on the up anchor side. We have no video of it but we ended up with two other anchors attached when we went to leave. We were actually there for several days so by that time we were the boat that had been there longest, but it's a tough place. The problem is that the quay is crescent shaped, so all the anchors end up in a pile at the center of the radius. We loved being in the middle of the action, but when we came back a few weeks later we long-lined over on the other side of the harbor (under the other taverna). As always, thanks for being with us.

I’m not sure you guys would have appreciated it if another boat would have squeezed in between you and your neighbour like you did - I bet there would have been a comment of “bad seamanship” like there was in Ep 62 with boats anchoring too close.…just saying.
@SailingTalisman

Probably. But there was space. It was just that the two boats on either side weren't snugged up to the next boat over. There was no way that space wasn't going to be taken, and we have narrow beam aft compared to modern production boats. Anyway, these days I probably would have left it and long-lined.

A camera like the Osmo Pocket would give you so much better stabilized footage for $300!

Hi Dominic. We're here in the States for winter and will be returning to the boat in April. While here I picked up two additional cameras, a Gopro 5 black and Gopro 7 black. Both have internal image stabilization and I've been experimenting with both. Although the 5 is a major step forward, the 7 is incredible. Camera stabilized video is really something these days. When you try to do it with software it tends to warp the edges of the scene in a very odd and distracting way. Not so with the camera stabilization. In the future I plan on getting a Lumix G5 or similar, but they're pretty pricey.
