I had been there in 2019 extreme cold place even in june month. Mummy is kept in a glass box in sitting position with no chemical solution used. Maybe the weather conditions throughout the year here has preserved this mummy till date.

Just returned from this place, also known as "Geu monastery", it is approximately 1 hour from Nako village, it is not enroute from Nako to Tabo to Kazo, if you start from Nako or Tabo, there is a diversion, some ~50km. They are constructing a new monastery there, i think the mummy shall be transferred there soon. It is believed that there were 7 stupas, which were destroyed in an earthquake, in one of these stupas this mummy was found in a meditating position, university of UC Oxford carbon dated this mummy to be ~500 years old.

I've been there in 2018,amazing place near KAZA..there is only one noodle shop near this place and as per the owner of that shop the scorpion myth was more authentic however mummy's teeth and hair are clearly visible and very venerable in that area..very pleasant place.. Would love to go again🙂
